  • Patent number: 5000331
Abstract: A light-weight bottle stabilized against knockdown or tipping over comprising in combination, the bottle and a lead weight which weight is wrapped around the base of the bottle and wherein at least the surface contacting the bottle is covered with a cushioning material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 23, 1990
Date of Patent: March 19, 1991
Assignee: Instruments For Research and Industry I.sup.2 R. Inc.
Inventors: Daniel R. Conlon, David S. Marston
  • Patent number: 4398643
Abstract: A weight for stabilizing laboratory ware and the like comprising a lead disc having a plurality of pliable extensions which are essentially symmetrically spaced, said weight being coated with a flexible cushioning material such as polyvinylchloride.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 1981
Date of Patent: August 16, 1983
    Inventor: Daniel R. Conlon
  • Patent number: 4015940
Abstract: A supporting device for laboratory containers, bottles, and the like which comprises a helical spring joined at its ends to form a torus-shaped body with several turns of said spring being loosely affixed to a base, thereby permitting expansion of said torus-shaped body when an object having a dimension greater than the central opening of the torus is inserted therein. Preferably said helical spring is wound to have substantially no compression and tension between turns, a natural frequency between 10 and 100 cycles per minute, and the spring wire is of a thin, rectangular cross-section with the long side directed radially.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 28, 1976
Date of Patent: April 5, 1977
    Inventor: Daniel R. Conlon
  • Patent number: 3969080
Abstract: Containers such as laboratory glassware are stabilized in their upright resting position by means of a split torus; e.g., a high density rod, preferably of essentially circular cross-section, bent into a substantially, but incompletely closed loop.
