  • Patent number: 8397565
Abstract: A high response air angle probe to measure a flow direction in an air flow near or above Mach one. The probe is rotatably secured within an assembly with marking to indicate when a desired position of the probe within the air flow has been found. The probe includes a row of three high response pressure transducers on a leading edge region to detect when the probe is at a certain position within the air flow.

  • Patent number: 8393859
Abstract: A card seal with an annular arrangement of cards that form the card seal, where the cards are interweaved and staggered to increase a sealing capability of the cards. The card seal is formed from leading edge cards staggered with trailing edge cards, and the cards have a thicker outer end and a thinner inner end where the interweaving occurs. Because of the varying thickness of the staggered cards, each card has a taper on the lower outer end that decreases from a high to a low on the inner side in order that a foot print for the card is constant across the bottom surface that floats on the rotating part.

  • Patent number: 8132815
Abstract: A card seal with an annular arrangement of cards that form the card seal, where the cards each form an L-shape cross section with a wide front face and a narrow side face, where the side face has a constant width from a top end to a location greater than a mid-point, and from this point decreases in width to zero width at the bottom end. The side faces form a blockage against leakage flowing between adjacent cards in a cards seal assembly.

  • Patent number: 8059607
Abstract: A spatial transmit diversity method includes transmitting data at a selected rate from a first antenna and awaiting an acknowledgement indicating successful receipt by the receiving terminal of the data transmitted at the selected rate from the first antenna. The data are then transmitted at the selected rate from a second antenna upon failure to receive an acknowledgement of successful receipt by the receiving terminal of the data transmitted at the selected rate from the first antenna within a predetermined time interval.
