    Abstract: There are provided rolls comprising an air and water barrier article having opposing first and second major surfaces, a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on at least the first major surface of the article, and a liner having a first major surface that contacts the opposing second major surface of the article, and at least two adhesion modifying zones disposed between the second major surface of the article and the first major surface of the liner, wherein both of a first and second adhesion modifying zones contact the first major surface of the liner, and wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive contacts a second major surface of the liner when wound in the roll. There are also provided films made using these air and water barrier articles and building envelopes made using such films.

    Abstract: There is provided an article that includes a polymeric layer disposed on and covering a first major surface of an porous layer, an adhesive layer disposed on a second major surface of the elastic layer opposite the polymeric layer; and a liner disposed on a major surface of the polymeric layer opposite the first major surface of the elastic layer. The polymeric layer and the porous layer together form an air and water barrier that is water vapor permeable. The liner is water vapor impermeable. In a preferred embodiment the polymeric layer comprises a polyoxyalkylene polymer having at least one end group derived from an alkoxy silane. A method of applying the article to a surface of a building component is also provided.

    Abstract: The roll includes an air and water barrier article, a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the first major surface of the barrier article, first and second coating compositions disposed on the opposing second major surface of the barrier article, and a liner having a first major surface in contact with the first coating composition and the second coating composition. The first coating composition has a first peel adhesion to the first major surface of the liner that is lower than a second peel adhesion of the second coating composition to the first major surface of the liner. The pressure sensitive adhesive contacts a second major surface of the liner when wound in the roll, and a peel adhesion between the second major surface of the liner and the pressure sensitive adhesive is less than or equal to the second peel adhesion. There are also provided methods of applying barrier articles, films made using these barrier articles, and building envelopes made using such films.

    Abstract: A condensation management apparatus comprises a first microstructured film arranged to condense water vapor on a substantially vertical surface of a component. The first film comprises channels disposed on first and second major surfaces of the first film and dimensioned to support capillary movement of condensate. The channels have a channel axis substantially parallel with a longitudinal axis of the first film. The longitudinal axis of the first film is tilted at a tilt angle of at least 4 degrees with respect to an axis normal to a direction of gravity. Openings in the channels are disposed at one or both end edges of the first film. The openings provide condensate release locations of the first film. A second film is disposed over a portion of the first film. The second film attaches the first film to the substantially vertical surface of the component.
