  • Patent number: 8698640
Abstract: A system for a monitored weather alert is provided. Weather and weather alert information comes from many sources and is consolidated by a remote computer and is output and displayed on printers, signboards, email, web site and other means of communication including flat screens and mobile telephones. Each set in the process of acquiring, analyzing, displaying and distributing the information is monitored and diagnostics are provided. Status on each element of the system is consolidated, analyzed and displayed and distributed to provide for the best possible reliability of the system and the best means for troubleshooting the system.

  • Patent number: 5781852
Abstract: This invention relates to an alert receiver interface, apparatus and method, for receiving and automatically detecting the issuance of emergency, weather or other alert messages broadcast on a radio channel, or on another communication system, and recording that alert message into the receiver with an audible day and time stamp for later playback. Interface apparatus and methods between the alert receiver interface and other communication systems, including paging systems, whereby an alert message, or an alarm tone, is automatically relayed and repeated on an other communication system are disclosed. A method and apparatus for selectively activating an other communication system for only those alert messages of specific concern to users of an other communication system is also taught herein.

  • Patent number: 5574999
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus and method for receiving and automatically detecting the issuance of emergency, weather or other alert messages broadcast on a radio channel, and recording that alert message into an alert receiver on solid state voice circuitry with a day and time stamp for later playback. This invention also teaches interface methods between the alert receiver and other communication systems whereby an alert message, or an alarm tone, is automatically relayed and repeated on the other communication system after the issuance of an alert message. A method and apparatus for automatically selecting the strongest received signal from a set of pre-selected channels, monitoring the selected channel for signal strength and the presence of modulated audio, and a sequence for automatically initiating the channel selection process, should certain preset minimum parameters for the received signal fail to be met, is also taught.

  • Patent number: 5444433
Abstract: This invention relates to an automatic, emergency or weather alert interface system between a first communication system, on which an emergency alert signaling tone is transmitted to indicate the occurrence of an emergence condition, and a second communication system, different from the first communication system. In operation, an emergency alert signaling tone is received from the first communication system by the emergency alert interface system which causes a prerecorded alert message to automatically be transmitted on the second communication system for an adjustable number of cycles wherein the audio from the prerecorded alert message is mixed with the audio from the second communication system so as to permit both audio messages to simultaneously be transmitted on the second communication system.

  • Patent number: 5233809
Abstract: This invention relates to a portable, easy-to-put-together, strong, durable mast support system for use in field operations where an antenna mast, or other similar mast, needs to be safely and quickly assembled, raised and supported. The mast support system is comprised of few pieces which stack in a compact longitudinal bundle for easy transportation to or from a site of use or for storage. When packed for shipment, the entire assembly may easily be placed on the top of a car or other vehicle. The mast support system is assembled through use of slideably interlocking pieces with hitch pins or clips. No special tools are required. The mast support system features a rotatable mast base alignment and support receptacle to enable one person to safely raise and lower a long mast after an antenna or other device has been safely affixed to the top of the mast when the mast is still at a safe horizontal ground-level position.
