Patent number: 9630803Abstract: A dispenser is used for dispensing flexible material from a coil. The dispenser includes a frame, a coil carriage mounted to the frame and a brake/payout assembly mounted to the frame. The frame defines an axis of rotation about which the coil carriage rotates. The coil is securable within the coil carriage for rotation with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly is operably mounted to the frame and is moveable toward and away from the coil carriage. The brake/payout assembly is biased toward the coil carriage for engagement with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly engages the coil carriage to slow rotation of the carriage and includes a nip region through which the flexible material traverses during payout.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2010Date of Patent: April 25, 2017Assignee: SIGNODE INDUSTRIAL GROUP LLCInventors: Walter L. Publication number: 20160362206Abstract: A crimping tool for applying a deformable crimp seal onto overlapping layers of strap material includes a head and pairs of jaws disposed in the tool head and operably mounted thereto. Each pair includes opposingly oriented jaw elements. A shear extends between and is operably connected to the jaw elements. The jaw elements have an inwardly oriented crimping portion with a tip having a tapered portion terminating at a free end. A pair of handles are operably connected to the jaw elements and to one another. A side plate is operably connected to the jaw elements and shears and includes a centrally disposed slotted opening. When the tool is in a closed position the jaw elements of each pair align with one another and the free ends of the opposingly oriented jaw element tips overlap in a direction transverse to the jaw elements.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2016Publication date: December 15, 2016Inventor: Daniel R. Patent number: 9465406Abstract: Method and system for a device having a processor module for maintaining a connection with another device are provided. The device includes a timer module having a plurality of timers, where the resolution for each timer is maintained by one or more processor modules; and a timer state module that stores an indicator value for indicating a timer state. A timer is assigned to the connection and the processor module manages the resolution of the timer. The processor module sends a request to the timer module for arming the timer and the timer module sets the timer state as active in a first storage location maintained by the timer state module; and responds to the processor module after the timer is activated. The processor module uses the information in the response for requesting a disarm operation.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2013Date of Patent: October 11, 2016Assignee: QLOGIC, CorporationInventors: Kanoj Sarcar, Ralph B. Patent number: 9248553Abstract: A crimping tool for applying a seal to strap material includes a tool head having pairs of jaws disposed in the tool head and operably mounted thereto, each pair including opposingly oriented jaw elements. Each pair of jaws is spaced from its adjacent pair and includes an upper and lower pivot openings. A shear is positioned between adjacent pairs of jaw elements. The shears extend between the jaw elements and include opposing openings that align with the jaw element upper openings. A pair of handles, each having a terminal end having first openings that align with the jaw element lower openings and are operably connected to one another at respective pivot openings. The tool includes at least one side plate having a pair of upper openings each aligned with the jaw element upper openings and the shear openings. Patent number: 9085070Abstract: A tension/cutter tool for band-type clamps that include a band for tensioning around an object and a seal for securing the tensioned band around the object, in which the band is bent and severed at the seal to form a J-seal. The tool includes a body, a drive, and a feed wheel mounted to the body and operably connected to the drive. A nose piece includes two rollers and is movably mounted to the body to engage and disengage the two rollers from contact with the feed wheel. The feed wheel and rollers define a band path therebetween. A tail end of the band is fed into the tool, between the feed wheel and the roller and the drive is actuated to tension the band. Upon achieving a desired tension, the seal is engaged with the nose piece and the band is bent to form the J-seal against the seal and the band is cut beyond the J-seal. A controller monitors and controls the tool functions.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Signode Industrial Group LLCInventors: Wayne J. Skonieczy, Jr., Walter L. Patent number: 7457008Abstract: A driver of the invention adapts to scan peripherals using information in capability descriptor provided by scan peripherals or a capability descriptor selected based upon scan peripheral model information. A driver of the invention automatically determines a scan peripheral's capabilities using information from the capability descriptor, and uses the information to configure itself from a set of driver modules. A user interface and scan job are then run through options enabled by the appropriate set of driver modules as determined by the capability descriptor. A preferred embodiment server of the invention embodies such an adaptive driver that queries a scan peripheral when it is first connected to the server. If an appropriate capability descriptor is obtained in response to the query, the capability descriptor is stored for use during a scan job.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2000Date of Patent: November 25, 2008Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Daniel R.
