The frame defines an axis of rotation about which the coil carriage rotates. The coil is securable within the coil carriage for rotation with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly is operably mounted to the frame and is moveable toward and away from the coil carriage. The brake/payout assembly is biased toward the coil carriage for engagement with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly engages the coil carriage to slow rotation of the carriage and includes a nip region through which the flexible material traverses during payout.

The device includes a timer module having a plurality of timers, where the resolution for each timer is maintained by one or more processor modules; and a timer state module that stores an indicator value for indicating a timer state. A timer is assigned to the connection and the processor module manages the resolution of the timer. The processor module sends a request to the timer module for arming the timer and the timer module sets the timer state as active in a first storage location maintained by the timer state module; and responds to the processor module after the timer is activated. The processor module uses the information in the response for requesting a disarm operation.

    Abstract: A tension/cutter tool for band-type clamps that include a band for tensioning around an object and a seal for securing the tensioned band around the object, in which the band is bent and severed at the seal to form a J-seal. The tool includes a body, a drive, and a feed wheel mounted to the body and operably connected to the drive. A nose piece includes two rollers and is movably mounted to the body to engage and disengage the two rollers from contact with the feed wheel. The feed wheel and rollers define a band path therebetween. A tail end of the band is fed into the tool, between the feed wheel and the roller and the drive is actuated to tension the band. Upon achieving a desired tension, the seal is engaged with the nose piece and the band is bent to form the J-seal against the seal and the band is cut beyond the J-seal. A controller monitors and controls the tool functions.

    Abstract: A driver of the invention adapts to scan peripherals using information in capability descriptor provided by scan peripherals or a capability descriptor selected based upon scan peripheral model information. A driver of the invention automatically determines a scan peripheral's capabilities using information from the capability descriptor, and uses the information to configure itself from a set of driver modules. A user interface and scan job are then run through options enabled by the appropriate set of driver modules as determined by the capability descriptor. A preferred embodiment server of the invention embodies such an adaptive driver that queries a scan peripheral when it is first connected to the server. If an appropriate capability descriptor is obtained in response to the query, the capability descriptor is stored for use during a scan job.
