    Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for recovering iodine from an aqueous suspension. Particulate iodine is formed on a filter septum and forms a cake of solid iodine. The cake is removed by backwash with a liquid or by blowback with a gas. Contact of the iodine with the environment is minimized.
