  • Patent number: 11946722
Abstract: A detector for detecting the removal and/or insertion of a weapon out of and/or into a holster. The detector may transmit a message each time the weapon is removed from the holster. A recording system may receive the message and determine whether or not it will begin recording the data it captures. A detector may detect the change in a magnitude of an inductance and/or an impedance of a circuit to detect insertion and removal of the weapon into and out of the holster. The holster is configured to couple to the detector to position the detector to detect insertion and removal of the weapon. An adhesive tape may couple a detector to a holster.

  • Publication number: 20190295029
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a computer-aided movable fixed asset management system including a host application (host app) and a mobile application (mobile app or driver app), the mobile app granting drivers permission to perform a “next work order step” in a driver workflow, in response to the driver entering information (e.g., movable fixed asset ID, movable fixed asset size) into the mobile app. In an illustrative example, the host app may be resident on a remote server operated by a dispatcher and mobile app may be resident on multiple mobile devices, each operated by a unique driver. Various examples of the computer-aided fixed asset management systems may advantageously maintain an accurate inventory (e.g., ID numbers, counts, locations, sizes) of a fleet of movable fixed assets.

  • Patent number: 9691237
Abstract: A system for generating a non-visual notification of a machine condition includes a machine condition sensor configured to sense a machine condition. A notification generation controller is in communication with the machine condition sensor. The notification generation controller generates a notification according to the sensed machine condition. In a feedback configuration the notification generation controller compares an integral of a rate of change of the sensed machine condition with a threshold to trigger the generation of a notification. In a guidance configuration the notification generation controller uses the deviation of the machine condition from a guidance direction determined with a steering algorithm to control the generation of a notification. A non-visual notification generator is in communication with the notification generation controller and generates a non-visual notification based on the notification.

  • Patent number: 5115193
Abstract: A transducer system is provided including an inductive linear displacement transducer connected to a temperature-compensating signal processor. The signal processor includes (a) an amplitude-variable, frequency-stable device providing a modulated D.C. current through the transducer, (b) a temperature-sensitive element connected in series between the transducer and the current-providing device such that it is subjected to substantially the same temperature as the transducer, and (c) a signal processing circuit coupled to the temperature-sensitive element. The temperature-sensitive element has a high temperature coefficient so that temperature changes have a substantial effect on the DC offset of the signal coming from the temperature-sensitive element, and a low dynamic resistance so that temperature changes have substantially no effect on the amplitude of the signal coming from the temperature-sensitive element.

  • Patent number: 4818866
Abstract: An optical detection system of the sort adapted to enable and/or disable the operation of an associated industrial machine when an appropriate intrusion is detected. The optical intrusion detection system is adapted to have a variable sensitivity, whereby it can be set to respond to the intrusion of an object of a first size during one phase of operation of said machine and to an object of a second size during another phase of the operation of said machine.

  • Patent number: 4723429
Abstract: A novel press load monitoring system for a variable speed press which is capable of automatically adjusting the measured load level of the press so as to compensate for strain in the press frame produced by mechanical vibrations occurring as the speed of the press is varied.

  • Patent number: 4266124
Abstract: The invention is an improvement over the system disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 3,805,061 for detecting intrusion of a selected area by an object and for operating or terminating operation of an associated apparatus when such intrusion occurs. It consists of improved transmitter and receiver units. The transmitter comprises a plurality of radiant energy sources that are strobed sequentially and repetitively by a clocked counter. The receiver has a plurality of radiant energy detectors, means for enabling the detectors sequentially and in synchronism with the strobing of the radiant energy sources, dual control relay means for operating or terminating operation of an associated apparatus, and cross coupled control circuits for causing the relay means to change states if a radiant energy detector fails to detect a radiant energy beam while it is enabled.
