  • Patent number: 10482175
Abstract: A communication device is arranged to transmit a character string that identifies the device. The character string comprises a plurality of substrings, each of which comprises a sequence of characters. A property of the device is identified using a data structure having multiple nodes, wherein each of a plurality of nodes stores a respective hash value. Each hash value corresponds to the hash value that would be generated by performing a hash function on the sequence of characters of each substring. The data structure comprises references between the plurality of nodes, and the references define a path through the data structure that identifies the device. A node on the path is associated with a property of the device.

  • Publication number: 20070067138
Abstract: Various implementations are disclosed for self-contained, non-intrusive data collection in ammunition. In some implementations, a gun is loaded with a non-explosive, non-firing round of ammunition containing a data acquisition system. Such a data-collecting round of ammunition may be loaded into the gun according to the same procedures as live rounds of ammunition, and, in particular, may be loaded into a firing position immediately after a preceding live round has been fired. In this way, the data-collecting round of ammunition is able to experience temperature or other conditions that are experienced essentially identically by live rounds. After collecting related data while in the firing position, the data-collecting round may be removed from the gun, for analysis of the data for, for example, development of hot gun misfire safety procedures.

  • Publication number: 20050256410
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for an ultrasonic probe capable of bending, flexing and deflecting with the aid of a balloon to remove a biological material. An ultrasonic medical device includes a balloon catheter, a balloon that is supported by the balloon catheter, an inflation lumen located along a longitudinal axis of the balloon catheter and an ultrasonic probe located along an outside surface of the balloon catheter wherein the ultrasonic probe engages an outer surface of the balloon. The ultrasonic probe is inserted through at least one engaging mechanism on an outside surface of the balloon catheter. The inflated balloon causes the ultrasonic probe to bend, allowing the ultrasonic probe to move along a bend in a vasculature and increase a surface area of the ultrasonic probe in communication with the biological material for ablation.

  • Publication number: 20050038412
Abstract: A handle includes a body portion and a handle portion which is slidably and rotatably mounted on the body portion. Shoulders on the body portion and the handle portion limit relative sliding movement of the body portion and handle portion. A catheter open at both ends has one end fixed to the handle portion for movement therewith, the opposite end of the catheter having a shape memory tip. A fitting is threadedly connected to an enlarged part of the body portion. A sheath is threadedly connected to the fitting and the catheter is slidable and rotatable within the sheath. An annular channel is provided between the sheath and the catheter, this channel being in fluid communication with a bore in the fitting. The outer end of the sheath has holes therethrough in fluid communication with the channel. An irrigation inflow and aspiration outflow tube is also in fluid communication with the bore in the fitting.
