Publication number: 20250257673Abstract: A system for generating electricity or hydrogen from natural gas can be connected between a gas backbone pipe and a local gas distribution pipe. The system includes a thermal energy storage unit containing a thermal energy storage material heated by an energy source. The system also includes a heat exchanger in fluid communication with the thermal energy storage unit that receives a flow natural gas from the gas backbone pipe and a heated fluid from the thermal energy storage unit to heat the flow of natural gas. The system also includes an expander in fluid communication with the heat exchanger and that receives a flow of heated natural gas from the heat exchanger and to expand the flow of heated natural gas to cool it and reduce its pressure. A generator connected to the expander generates electricity from the expansion of the flow of heated natural gas by the expander.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2023Publication date: August 14, 2025Inventors: Andrea Pedretti, Peter Altwegg, Daniel Roger Pfammatter, Patrick Clemens Escher

Publication number: 20250175501Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to identity-based DNS-traffic routing and monitoring. A computing platform may establish, using an encrypted DNS process, a secure DNS session by executing an encrypted session handshake with a client device, which may include receiving a security certificate for the encrypted DNS process that identifies a user of the client device. The computing platform may receive an encrypted DNS query request comprising a request for an IP address for a specified domain name. The computing platform may determine, based on the security certificate, an identity of the user. The computing platform may determine, based on the identity of the user, a security policy indicating domain matching criteria and corresponding actions to take on matching domain names. The computing platform may determine a first action corresponding to the domain name, and may send, based on the first action, an encrypted DNS query response.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2024Publication date: May 29, 2025Inventors: David K. Ahn, Jess P. Parnell, Jared Holmberg, Travis Duane Camechis, Pierre Mallett, III, John C. Fenton, Daniel Rogers

Patent number: 12236642Abstract: Embodiments provide image display systems and methods for a camera calibration using a two-sided diffractive optical element (DOE). More specifically, embodiments are directed to determining intrinsic parameters of a camera using a single image obtained using a two-sided DOE. The two-sided DOE has a first pattern on a first surface and a second pattern on a second surface. Each of the first and second patterns may be formed by repeating sub-patterns that are lined when tiled on each surface. The patterns on the two-sided DOE are formed such that the brightness of the central intensity peak on the image of the image pattern formed by the DOE is reduced to a predetermined amount.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2023Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: Magic Leap, Inc.Inventors: Zhiheng Jia, Etienne Gregoire Grossmann, Hao Zheng, Daniel Roger Dominguez, Robert D. Publication number: 20250063021Abstract: Aspects described herein may relate to cyber threat detection based on threat context and/or threat changes. Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) data may be received from a CTI provider. Endpoint data that indicates evidence that endpoints are cyber threats may be determined based on the CTI data. The endpoint data may be analyzed and/or compared to stored data associated with the endpoint. The analysis and/or comparison may be performed to determine whether evidence that the endpoint is a cyber threat has changed. Based on any changes, dispositions for the endpoint may be determined and sent. The dispositions may change how devices filter network traffic associated with the endpoint. Alternatives to default dispositions may be determined based on a impact of blocking potentially legitimate network traffic to and/or from the endpoints. Machine-learning models may assist in processing and analyzing CTI data, performing threat monitoring, and/or determining feeds that include the dispositions.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2024Publication date: February 20, 2025Inventors: David K. Ahn, Jess P. Parnell, Tyler J. Wendell, Hansaka A. Kodituwakku, Jared Holmberg, Daniel Rogers, Cody MIchael Baker, Pierre Mallett, III
