  • Patent number: 10133643
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for performing a failover between a first storage system and a second storage system. Data is synchronized between the first storage system and the second storage system. A failover is performed from the first storage system to the second storage system in response to a failover event at the first storage system while synchronizing the data. A determination is made that a first storage unit of the first storage system is inoperable and that that a second storage unit of the first storage system is operable in response to the failover event. In response to determining that the second storage unit is operable, a resynchronization is initiated to copy updates to a second storage unit of the second storage system mirroring the second storage unit of the first storage system to the second storage unit of the first storage system.

  • Patent number: 9920430
Abstract: A method for improving the adhesive capacity of a protectively coated steel sheet is proposed, in which, in a continuous process, a protective coating based on Zn—Al—Mg is applied to the steel sheet and, in a further step, the protective coating undergoes a surface treatment in which an aqueous composition is applied in order to modify the natural oxide layer, which contains Al2O3 and MgO, without pickling this natural oxide layer as a result. In order to significantly increase adhesive capacity of the protectively coated steel sheet, the invention proposes skin-pass rolling the protectively coated steel sheet and then reacting the natural oxide layer with an aqueous fluoride-containing composition, reducing its MgO content in order to thus modify the natural oxide layer.

  • Publication number: 20170122730
Abstract: A non-contacting method and device to project scale or near to scale distance measurement markings onto a flat and/or curved surface. Additionally, the same method is used to adjust an image and/or the projection of an image onto a flat and/or curved surface, and additionally a device to project the image on a flat and/or curved surface is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170102232
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for projecting scaled images to a surface is disclosed. The methods and apparatuses include measuring distances to various points of the surface and altering the image based on an approximation of the surface based on the measured distances to the various points such that the altered image is substantially accurately scaled when projected back onto the surface. For a sufficiently flat surface, the image may be altered by scaling based on the measured distances and angles to the various points. For a curved surface, the image may be altered by scaling based on the approximation of the surface. The projected image may include a substantially accurate measurement markers when projected onto the surface for measurement directly on the surface.

  • Publication number: 20170097228
Abstract: A non-contacting measurement apparatus to measure a two or three dimensional out of plane orientation with respect to a surface. Various embodiments are possible with some being capable of measuring perpendicularity to the surface, closest distance to the surface, angles of incidence of a vector from the measurement apparatus to the point on the surface, and/or generating three dimensional coordinate representations of the measurement apparatus and/or its components with respect to the surface and/or a point on the surface. Some embodiments of the measurement apparatus allow it to obtain orientation data dynamically, allowing the measurement apparatus and/or the surface to be moving while obtaining the orientation measurements. Additionally some embodiments of the measurement apparatus are capable of guiding a user to a particular orientation through an output device.

  • Patent number: 9573828
Abstract: A liquid purification system is provided. Although not limited to water, the purification system is especially suitable for water. The purification system utilizes a vessel having antimicrobial inner wall load bearing surfaces and/or antimicrobial (antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-mold, etc.) interior non-load bearing surfaces. When the liquid moves within the vessel and contacts the antimicrobial surfaces, the liquid becomes purified or sanitized. The inner wall load bearing surfaces and non-load bearing interior surfaces of the vessel may be manufactured from a host polymer that has antimicrobial organo-metallic additives which form a solid-solution with the host polymer and are distributed homogeneously throughout the host polymer. The host polymer matrix may be an organic material, an inorganic material or an organic-inorganic material blend. The antimicrobial agent polymer matrix may be located in localized zones within the vessel.
