Abstract: The invention relates to culturally sensitive sorting of records. The invention provides a method and a computer system for sorting a set of keyed records based on a preferred locale specification having collation information of a culture. The method is performed on a computer system operatively coupled to a computer readable memory storing the set of keyed records. The steps include reading a locale token associated with the set of records, the locale token identifying a preferred locale object having collation information, using the preferred locale object to locate and read the collation information, creating a culturally correct collation key for each data key associated with the each record, and using the created culturally correct collation keys to sort the set of records into a culturally correct sorted order.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds that are two-part molecules, and compositions containing such compounds, in which one part is designed to become covalently bonded to the skin (bonding agent) and the other part (a characteristic use agent) is designed to impart some characteristic use, such as emolliency, moisturizing effect, anti-acne, anti-wrinkle, anti-pain, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-irritation, skin tanning and skin lightening effects, extended protection of the skin (e.g., from ultraviolet light, by incorporation of a sunscreen component; from toxic and/or irritating substances; from insects and skin parasites, by incorporation of insecticides and/or insect repellants; from free radicals or other agents, as in aging, by incorporation of antioxidants), or dyeing of hair, skin nails, wool or fur. The covalently bonded part may also be useful to impart skin strengthening effect (e.g., from shear forces) or as wound healing agents.

Abstract: A single file, such as an HTML document, is logically divided into multiple articles that can be individually recognized and ranked by search engines. The segmentation of a document into separate articles is based upon tokens that are used in document mark-up languages. In addition to the tokens which delineate articles from one another, additional tokens, or tags, are used to create a named location for each article, so that a browser can immediately display an article within a document that is relevant to a search query.

Abstract: A computer system is described that is capable of transmitting and displaying files containing variable locale selectors, that is, language, territory and coded character set identifiers. The system contains a code that is transmitted as part of the files, and includes information defining the language and the territory, which are alphanumeric variables normally encoded in binary format, and the coded character set, which is normally encoded as a numeric decimal format. The discrete values of known combinations of these codes are listed, preferably in a lookup table, and each known set of coded values is given a unique hexadecimal value. The hexadecimal value is retained with the subject file and used by a user interface adapter to display the information in the file according to the desired set of locale selectors.

Abstract: A method of aiding in the reduction of the incidence of tobacco smoking which comprises, in one embodiment, the application of a nicotine containing dermally applicable patch such that the nicotine in the patch is allowed to transdermally migrate into the bloodstream at a rate sufficient to correspond to the nicotine level in the blood achieved by tobacco smoking. Simultaneously therewith, the method involves the oral application of a low concentration nicotine aerosol spray having a selected droplet size and selected concentration of nicotine. In another embodiment, the invention resides in the use of the transdermal application of nicotine alone and in a further embodiment, the method resides in the use of the low concentration nicotine aerosol spray alone. Further, a device for applying the low dose nicotine aerosol spray is also provided.

Abstract: A device for warming and illuminating pre-packaged, pre-wetted disposable towels is provided. The unit also secures a plastic canister of disposable towels so that the towels may be dispensed with one hand. A cup sized to enclose the canister in an upper sector has a supporting dish, upon the upper surface of which is provided a series of lips to engage various diameter plastic canisters containing the towels. The dish has a recessed bowl at its center in which one or more small incandescent light bulbs are mounted to warm the fluid pool within the canister and to provide illumination through a translucent window portion of the cup. The top of the dispenser is capped to retain the container from above, while the dish is spring mounted within the cup to assure a snug vertical fit of the container within the cup. A dispenser opening is provided in the cap of the unit, through which the towels from the container are pulled out.

Abstract: A collapsible co-dispensing tubular container for separately storing and co-dispensing two extrusible product components of substantially equal viscosity with substantially constant proportionation. The container may comprise a collapsible tubular body, a head fitment having two discharge ports which fitment is sealingly secured in one end of the collapsible body, and a longitudinally extending interior bulkhead disposed to partition the interior of the container into two compartments, one of which compartments is in fluid communication with one of the discharge ports, and the other of the compartments being in fluid communication with the other of the discharge ports. The improvement comprises a pressure responsive moveable septum disposed adjacent the head end of the container and which septum is in fluid communication with both of the compartments in the container.
