  • Patent number: 10337355
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a first device coupled to a bearing compartment structure, a second device coupled to an engine case structure, and a controller. The controller is configured to: issue a command to one of the first device or the second device to generate a signal, obtain data from the other of the one of the first device or the second device, where the data is based on the signal, process the data to determine that a skew exists between the bearing compartment structure and the engine case structure in an amount that is greater than a threshold, identify at least one torqueing device to activate based on processing the data, and cause the at least one torqueing device to activate to cause the bearing compartment structure and the engine case structure to align within the threshold amount.

  • Publication number: 20160281040
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for aging beer inside a coconut. After selecting a suitable coconut of appropriate freshness and maturity, an opening may be placed in the shell through which coconut water may be removed and beer may be introduced. The opening may then be sealed and the coconut may be stored for a period of time. During storage, the coconut may impart a coconut flavor to the beer stored therein. Storage may be performed in a refrigerated environment to ensure the continued freshness of the beer and coconut, as well as the sanitation of the storage process. After sufficient storage to impart a desired amount or intensity of coconut flavor to the beer, the beer may be removed from the coconut. The coconut flavored beer may then be consumed, bottled, canned, kegged, or otherwise stored.

  • Patent number: 8723927
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for subtitling stereoscopic imagery. The stereoscopic imagery may include a plurality of paired stereo images having a perspective and providing a stereoscopic scene, wherein each image of a given pair represents a perspective of the imagery as viewed by a single eye of the stereoscopic scene. A subtitle may be presented solely upon one image of the stereo pair of images of at least some of the stereoscopic imagery.

  • Publication number: 20100245666
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for subtitling stereoscopic imagery. The stereoscopic imagery consists of one or more stereo pairs of imagery which are stored on film, other physical means such as paper, or digitally and which when viewed or projected with appropriate systems, give the illusion of three-dimensional depth. By imprinting subtitle data onto a single eye view image of each stereo pair, the textual or graphical data may be seen by the viewer without fear of discomfort from misalignment of stereographic subtitling and without a loss of depth illusion from lost or improper visual depth cues caused by stereographic subtitle placement. The subtitle data may be physically imprinted onto a physical medium containing the image pairs or may be composited onto the single eye view image digital files.

  • Patent number: 7472102
Abstract: Targeted delivery of items with inventory management using a cluster-based approach or a rule-based approach is disclosed. An example of items is advertisements. Each item is allocated to one or more clusters. The allocation is made based on a predetermined criterion accounting for at least a quota for each item and possibly a constraint for each cluster. The former can refer to the number of times an item must be shown. The latter can refer to the number of times a given group of web pages is likely to be visited by users, and hence is the number of times items can be shown in a given cluster. The invention is not limited to any particular definition of what constitutes a cluster or item.

  • Publication number: 20070252904
Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting a vertical line artifact in an image captured with a digital camera. The vertical line artifact may be caused by a defect in the digital camera. Techniques also are described for correcting a vertical line artifact in an image captured with a digital camera. It may be determined that the vertical line artifact includes at least one pixel in the vertical line having a non-zero suppressed signal. A value for the pixel having the non-zero suppressed signal may be determined. A statistically-based correction may be applied to the pixel having the non-zero suppressed signal based on the determination that the pixel has a non-zero suppressed signal and the determined value of the pixel. The image may be a portion of a movie stored on a DVD.

  • Publication number: 20060271435
Abstract: The transmission of information during ad click-through is disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method selects an ad to be displayed on a web page, as one of a plurality of ads within a current cluster in which each of the ad has a probability to be selected. The method displays the ad on the web page, and then detects activation—for example, click-through—of the displayed ad. The method transmits information to an entity associated with the ad, such as an advertiser, upon detecting click-through or other activation of the ad. In one embodiment, the information transmitted includes information regarding the current cluster.

  • Patent number: 6806018
Abstract: A laser imageable flexographic printing plate and a method of making the laser imageable flexographic printing plate using a collapsible UV cross-linkable material comprising a UV-curable elastomer, an IR dye, and microspheres is disclosed. The collapsible UV cross-linkable material is mixed together and then extruded to form a printing plate. An IR laser is used to collapse and melt the collapsible UV cross-linkable material to form a relief image on the printing plate. The printing plate is thereafter UV cured by face exposure to crosslink and cure the formed relief image. The invention addresses a market need for eliminating chemical processing of printing plates, thus going from plate to press much more quickly. The printing plate may also contain a thin layer of a high-density non-collapsible UV-curable elastomer between the collapsible layer and the cover sheet of the plate which acts as the print surface in the final plate.
