  • Publication number: 20250161917
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition that includes a first oxide that includes zinc, aluminum, and copper; and a metal that includes least one of an alkali metal and/or an alkaline earth metal, where the composition has a first total uptake capacity of CO2 of greater than 218 ?mol CO2/g of composition at a first temperature of about 40° C., a second total uptake capacity of CO2 of greater than 76 ?mol CO2/g of composition at a second temperature of about 300° C., and the composition is capable of converting CO2 to at least one of CO, methane, or methanol, when exposed to H2 at a third temperature greater than the first temperature.

  • Publication number: 20240327730
Abstract: A dehydrogenative coupling process to convert alkanes to longer chain olefins in a single process step is described. The approach described combats the thermodynamics of traditional dehydrogenation by consuming the products as they form. This dehydrogenative coupling reaction may be performed in a single reactor which could enable increased per-pass yield of desirable C8+ olefins compared to a traditional two reactors in a series.

  • Publication number: 20220048834
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method that includes converting a gas stream that contains hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO) to a second mixture that contains a hydrocarbon, for example, a hydrocarbon having between 3 and 15 carbon atoms, where the converting is performed using a first catalyst configured to convert H2 and CO to methanol, a second catalyst configured to convert methanol to dimethyl ether (DME), and a third catalyst configured to convert DME to the hydrocarbon.

  • Publication number: 20210309525
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a metal carbide, where the method includes thermally treating a molecular precursor in an oxygen-free environment, such that the treating produces the metal carbide and the molecular precursor includes where M is the metal of the metal carbide, N* includes nitrogen or a nitrogen-containing functional group, and x is between zero and six, inclusively.

  • Publication number: 20180119022
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure is a method that includes contacting an oxygenated compound and hydrogen (H2) with a solid catalyst, where the solid catalyst includes a metal carbide that includes a first transition metal, and the contacting converts at least a portion of the oxygenated compound to a deoxygenated compound. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the metal carbide may include at least one of Mo2C and/or W2C.
