  • Patent number: 7845552
Abstract: An exemplary system includes an ATM (322) which is operative to conduct transactions including cash dispensing for users responsive to communication with a transaction host (336). The ATM is also operative to provide output signals which drive external displays (328, 330) which are separate from the ATM. The processor in the ATM is also operative to cause the ATM to receive visual and/or audio content from one or more content sources (342, 343) and to store data corresponding to such content in the ATM. Such content is then output through the external displays. The ATM is also operative to receive and store a plurality of advertising messages. The advertising messages are output in a targeted manner to users of the ATM.

  • Patent number: 7314339
Abstract: A pneumatic carrier transport system includes a user terminal. A piston of a rodless cylinder can be used to telescopically move a blocking cylinder. The blocking cylinder is vertically displaced to an open position to permit manual access to a carrier received at the terminal. With the blocking cylinder at the open position, a carrier can also be manually placed into the terminal. The blocking cylinder is formed of transparent material to allow a user to view a carrier received at the terminal while the blocking cylinder is in a closed position. The terminal includes control mechanisms on opposite sides to enable two users to operate and access the carrier at the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 7220082
Abstract: A pneumatic transport system including a user terminal at a service provider station having a movable member operably connected with a flexible drive member. The drive member moves within at least one side rail to vertically displace the movable member to permit access to a carrier at the user terminal. The user terminal includes control mechanisms on opposite sides of a base to enable two users to operate and access the carrier at the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 6726101
Abstract: A transaction system (104, 144) includes a customer station (116, 146) and a service provider station (112, 148). Items such as medical items, are passed between the service provider and the customer station through item transport devices (118, 154). An enclosure (10) positioned at the customer station houses a payment terminal (16) therein. A movable cover (14) is moved responsive to inputs to a remote control device (36) at the service provider station to enable a customer at the customer station to access the payment terminal. Through inputs to the payment terminal, the customer is enabled to make payment for items that are provided to the customer by the service provider.

  • Patent number: 6672808
Abstract: A system (10) for carrying out transactions between a customer at a customer station (14) and a service provider at a service provider station (12), includes transferring a body (96, 140, 170) through a pneumatic transfer tube (26). The customer at the customer station provides inputs corresponding to a financial account through input devices on the body such as a card reader (72, 146, 172) and a keypad (74, 148, 172). Data input by the customer is stored in the memory (82, 158) on the body. After transfer to the service provider station, data in the memory is output to a charge device (56) which is operative to assess a charge to the customer's account responsive to data output from the memory.

  • Publication number: 20030179290
Abstract: A system for carrying out transactions includes customer stations (118) and ATM stations (120) and a service provider station (114). The service provider station and customer stations are operated in a building (116) or other facility in which a service provider operates the service provider station in a secure room. Audio and video communications are established between the service provider and customers at the customer stations and ATM stations. Items can be exchanged between customer station customers and the service provider through carriers (26) transmitted through a pneumatic tube system (22). A video material presentation device (50) provides promotional or other video material which may be presented on displays at the customer stations. The video material may be presented to customers when the customer terminal is not in communication with the service provider terminal.

  • Patent number: 4944969
Abstract: A multipurpose board has a frame circumferentially supporting at least three transparent plates with segregating clearances between the transparent plates. Particles only partially fill each segregating clearance, the particles in the respective segregating clearances having different physical properties. When the board is moved, particle flow in each segregating clearance permitted by the only partial filling thereof forms varieties of wave-like combinations when movement is stopped, which are visible three dimentionally through the transparent plates.
