The functional layer can be a nonwoven web including thermal-setting fibers, where the nonwoven web is affixed to the backing substrate. The functional layer can also include thermal-setting fibers and a thermal-setting polymer disposed on the backing substrate. The thermal-setting fibers can be melamine. Thermal-setting fibers can be rigidly fixed within the functional layer. The functional layer can further include a polymer resin.

One example of such an action is automatically generating and sending an autoreply email message to the sender of the inbound email message.
