  • Patent number: 8762002
Abstract: A vehicle includes a frame, first and second wheels that are selectively rotatable about a first horizontal axis, a third wheel, and a steering system. The steering system operatively connects the third wheel to the frame such that the third wheel is selectively rotatable about a second horizontal axis. The steering system is configured to selectively toe the third wheel and to laterally displace the third wheel with respect to the frame, thereby increasing stability during turning.

  • Publication number: 20130234843
Abstract: A scrolling control system having tactile feedback includes a rotational control for scrolling through a plurality of user selections. Also included is a first position of the rotational control, wherein rotation away from the first position scrolls through the plurality of user selections. Further included is a pulsating system for providing tactile feedback to a user, wherein the pulsating system distributes pulses at a plurality of frequencies that correspond to a plurality of rotational control positions.

  • Patent number: 7866696
Abstract: A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a lower seat portion and a seatback portion. The seatback portion is selectively movable to vary the reclination angle of the seatback portion. The seat assembly is configured so that a first part of the lower seat portion rises relative to a second part of the lower seat portion so that the lower seat portion acts as an occupant restraint when a predetermined condition exists. Exemplary predetermined conditions include the reclination angle changing, the reclination angle exceeding a predetermined amount, and conditions indicative of an elevated risk of vehicle impact.

  • Patent number: 6752233
Abstract: A vehicle drive system includes a primary axle driven by torque from a transmission, an output shaft or propeller shaft driven by the primary axle or transmission, a secondary axle, a secondary axle clutch, and a secondary axle drive module. The secondary axle clutch is configured to operatively connect the secondary axle with the output shaft. The secondary axle drive module is operatively connected between the output shaft and secondary axle. The drive module includes an overspeed gear set connected in parallel with a one-way clutch to facilitate application of torque to the secondary axle even when the secondary axle is rotating faster than the primary axle.
