    Abstract: A scaffold (20) includes first and second bearers (26, 30), a platform (34) supported by the bearers (26, 30), and a guardrail system (38) for the platform (34). An access brace (48) includes first and second elongate members (50, 52). The first elongate member (50) includes end hooks (66, 68) at opposing ends of the member (50) that engage with the first and second bearers (26, 30). The second elongate member (52) includes first and second brackets (80, 82) that couple to vertical posts (28, 32) of the scaffold (20). A post (56) extends from an intermediate portion (60) of the first elongate member (50) and couples with an upright support (44) of the guardrail system (38). A distance (98) between the post (56) and an end of the first elongate member (50) defines an opening (106) in the guardrail system (38) for access to the platform (34).
