Patent number: 8738704Abstract: A publish/subscribe broker messaging system and method for processing a data message based on a message broker scheduling algorithm. The scheduling algorithm can be configured in association with a message broker to receive and transmit the data message associated with one or more publishers to a subscriber. The subscriber can register a subscription with respect to the message broker to receive the data message based on a selected topic. An attribute can be added to the selected topic description based on the scheduling algorithm in order to schedule the data message from the publisher with respect to the selected topic via the message broker. The data message with respect to the selected topic from the publisher can be processed sequentially and the scheduling algorithm can process other topics simultaneously. The data messages from other publishers with similar topic can also be processed simultaneously in order to transmit a high volume of message while ensuring high levels of service.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2010Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Daniel Stark, Jeremy Lee Reitz

Publication number: 20140123914Abstract: A once-through steam generator comprises a duct having an inlet end in communication with a source of a hot gas; and a tube bundle installed in the duct and comprising multiple heat transfer tubes. The tube bundle has an economizer section, an evaporator section, and a superheater section. A steam separating device may be positioned between the evaporator section and the superheater section, wherein, as part of a wet start-up, hot water collected by the steam separating device is delivered from the steam separating device to mix with cold feedwater before it is introduced into the economizer section. A start-up module may be positioned in the duct near the inlet end, wherein, as part of a dry start-up, cold feedwater is delivered into the start-up module to generate hot water that is then mixed into the feedwater stream before it is introduced into the economizer section.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2013Publication date: May 8, 2014Applicant: Vogt Power International Inc.Inventors: Daniel Stark, Darryl Taylor, Anthony A. Publication number: 20130287195Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing telecommunication services based on customer groups. A customer group is offered a service plan that provides an incentive to early subscribers in the form of a more attractive pricing plan (i.e., discounts). For example, a particular subscriber may be provided a discount for each customer in the group who becomes a subscriber after the particular subscriber. The discounts and pricing plan may also be based, at least in part, on the total number of customers in the group that become subscribers. Further, in order to reduce customer churn, customer discounts or other incentives may be applied toward the end of a subscription plan period. Further, subscriber discounts and/or credits may be banked in a subscriber account.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2013Publication date: October 31, 2013Inventors: Stephen Sobolevitch, Daniel Stark

Publication number: 20130129359Abstract: A data transport system for transporting data and auxiliary signals over an optical link comprises a transmitter, a receiver and an optical link. The transmitter and receiver are coupled to a first end of the optical link. The optical link includes a number of optical channels. A controller is coupled to the transmitter and the receiver, and controls the transmitter and the receiver to operate in a first state when data are detected at an input of the transmitter. Data are transported via the data transport system in the first state. The controller controls the transmitter and the receiver to operate in a second state when the data are detected as absent at the input of the transmitter. Data are prevented from being transported via the data transport system in the second state.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2012Publication date: May 23, 2013Inventors: Eric ZBINDEN, Thomas Benjamin TROXELL, Ashraf M. WAHBA, David Daniel STARK, David A. LANGSAM

Publication number: 20060039566Abstract: When client-server software is distributed from a vendor over a network, the server receiving the software generates a random encryption key in response to installing a part of the software. The encryption key is used for communication between the server and the client. Every installation of the software thus results in an effectively unique encryption, and no evidence of the encryption key is in the original client-server software.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2004Publication date: February 23, 2006Inventors: Daniel Stark, Daniel Coccia
