Patent number: 10296918Abstract: A computer-implemented technique provides a compromised payment card risk assessment. The technique involves gathering, by processing circuitry, compromised payment card data. The technique further involves identifying, by the processing circuitry, a set of compromised payment cards from the compromised payment card data. The technique further involves providing, in response to identifying the set of compromised payment cards and by the processing circuitry, a compromised payment card assessment report which includes a set of payment card entries corresponding to the set of compromised payment cards. Each payment card entry includes (i) identification data which identifies a respective compromised payment card and (ii) a score which indicates an estimated likelihood that the respective compromised payment card will actually be used for fraud. Such scores may be based on summations of different sub-scores and serve as overall numerical measures of risk.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2015Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventor: Daniel T. Patent number: 10117948Abstract: Disclosed are chemical transformations for the conjugation of unprotected peptide biomolecules. The disclosed chemical transformations relate to methods of selective cysteine and selenocysteine functionalization of unprotected peptide and protein molecules. The processes feature several significant advantages over existing methods of peptide modification, including specificity towards selenocysteine over other nucleophiles (e.g., amines, hydroxyls), excellent functional group tolerance, and mild reaction conditions. Also disclosed are syntheses of arylated cysteine and arylated selenocysteine peptide compounds.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2016Date of Patent: November 6, 2018Assignee: Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyInventors: Stephen L. Buchwald, Bradley L. Pentelute, Daniel T. Cohen, Chi Zhang

Patent number: 8806627Abstract: Content randomization techniques for thwarting malicious software attacks. In one example, a method comprises the following steps. Content is received at a randomizer module from a first computing device, the content having been retrieved by the first computing device in response to a content request by a second computing device. The content is randomly altered at the randomizer module to generate randomly altered content. Log information about the random alteration to the content is maintained at the randomizer module. The randomly altered content is sent from the randomizer module to the first computing device such that the first computing device is able to provide the randomly altered content to the second computing device in response to the content request by the second computing device. Further, the random alteration may be removed from reply content using the log information.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2012Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Idan Aharoni, Daniel T.
