  • Patent number: 8972532
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for providing hardware configuration management for one or more heterogeneous computers utilizing a LAN controller with imbedded remote management capabilities technology comprises receiving an initiation request from a LAN controller. A list of FPACL vendors is then obtained from the LAN controller. The LAN controller is configured according to the predetermined requirements of the FPACL vendors. The LAN controller may be configured according to the predetermined requirements of non-FPACL vendors. The list of non-FPACL vendors and the received FPACL vendors along with the corresponding predetermined requirements for proper configuration may be stored on a central server or on a plurality of devices accessible to the central server. Connection to the LAN controller may be through a network. An exemplare LAN controller is an INTELĀ® AMT device.
