    Abstract: A dual wheel axle assembly includes an axle, a hub coupled to the axle, a rotor coupled to the hub, a surface of the axle assembly inboard of the hub, and an adapter. The adapter is coupled to the rotor or the hub. The adapter has an encoder ring portion positioned at a first distance from the surface of the axle assembly, wherein the first distance is substantially equal to a second distance from a corresponding surface of a single wheel axle assembly to an encoder ring portion of the single wheel axle assembly without the adapter.

A rotor is supported by the axle and includes a braking portion and a second mounting portion. The second mounting portion is disposed between, and attached to, the first mounting portion and the third mounting portion to allow for servicing of the rotor without removal of the axle from the hub.
