Patent number: 11475718Abstract: A notification can be generated to notify a user of a value of a first parameter of a vehicle. Generating the notification includes identifying a second parameter based on an association of the second parameter with the first parameter; comparing the value of the first parameter to a first threshold value and a second threshold value; and generating the notification notifying the user of the value of the first parameter based on a value of the second parameter if the value of the first parameter is between the first and second thresholds.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2021Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Andrew John Murray, Torsten Gerhardt, Ian Sutherland Wright, Christopher Wright, Daniel Tauber

Patent number: 11472356Abstract: A vehicle control system for a vehicle, the vehicle control system comprising a controller, wherein the controller has an activatable secondary parked mode in which the controller automatically controls a plurality of components of the vehicle, each component also being controllable by a corresponding user control, and activation of the secondary parked mode changes the state of each component from an in-use state to a parked state when the vehicle attends a delivery or collection.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2019Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Andrew John Murray, Ian Sutherland Wright, Torsten Gerhardt, Christopher Wright, Daniel Tauber

Patent number: 9664210Abstract: In some implementations, bending or other shape changes of a device are actuated by inflating or deflating a bladder in the device. Then, once the desired new shape is achieved by this actuation, another bladder in the device is layer-jammed, to make the device rigid in the new shape. In some cases, sheets in the layer-jamming bladder are coated with abrasive particles. In some cases, layer jamming bladders are interwoven to form a woven device. The rigidity of the woven device can be anisotropically controlled. Layer jamming some, but not all, of the bladders in the woven device causes the woven device to have a rigidity that varies by direction. In some cases, a layer-jamming bladder includes a solid layer with a crease in it. As a result, the bladder can easily bend at the crease.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2014Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyInventors: Jifei Ou, Lining Yao, Daniel Tauber, Hiroshi Ishii

Patent number: 9077572Abstract: A receiver applies a calibration method to compensate for skew between input channels. The receiver skew is estimated by observing the coefficients of an adaptive equalizer which adjusts the coefficients based on time-varying properties of the multi-channel input signal. The receiver skew is compensated by programming the phase of the sampling clocks for the different channels. Furthermore, during real-time operation of the receiver, channel diagnostics is performed to automatically estimate differential group delay and/or other channel characteristics based on the equalizer coefficients using a frequency averaging or polarization averaging approach. Framer information can furthermore be utilized to estimate differential group delay that is an integer multiple of the symbol rate. Additionally, a DSP reset may be performed when substantial signal degradation is detected based on the channel diagnostics information.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2013Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: ClariPhy Communications, Inc.Inventors: Mario Rafael Hueda, Alfredo Taddei, Diego Ernesto Crivelli, Hugo Santiago Carrer, Oscar Ernesto Agazzi, Norman L. Patent number: 7828557Abstract: A printed circuit board having an upper face provided with contact traces and pads with a light-emitting diode fixed to the board and connected to the traces. A connector juxtaposed is with the pads and carries a contact element having a leg bearing with spring force on one of the pads and formations gripping a hookup wire. At least one fastener engages through the connector and circuit board with a heat-sink base and presses the connector against the circuit board and the circuit board against the base.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2009Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: BJB GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Karl-Wilhelm Vogt, Daniel Tauber, Freddi Plikun
