  • Publication number: 20210252524
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for purifying a gaseous medium loaded with particles including a shell closed at the ends thereof by an end plate protected by a disjoined shell, an electrostatic filtration chamber having a passage for the gaseous medium loaded with particles; the chamber including an emissive structure including serrated plates forming tips directed towards a collecting structure on either side of the emissive structure and designed to trap the particles contained in the gaseous medium; the end plate and the shell are each brought to a different predetermined potential so as to create an electric repulsion field in the vicinity of the end plate, directed towards the passage.

  • Patent number: 7198762
Abstract: The invention concerns a device comprising at least an electrostatic filter (20) with corona effect comprising an emitting structure (29, 32, 33) and a collector structure (24). The invention is characterized in that the collector structure (24) comprises a plurality of cavities trapping the particles contained in the gas medium, such as gases of an internal combustion engine. The emitting structure (29, 32, 33) comprises a plurality of serrated plates such as ratchets (32) designed to be connected to a high voltage circuit. Preferably, the collector structure (24) comprises a separator formed of a wire mesh. Advantageously, said device is associated with an oxidation catalytic converter and/or a continuously regenerating mechanical filter and/or suction means.

  • Publication number: 20050115410
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for avoiding the deposition of particles of soot (3) on the insulating components (2) in an electrostatic filter (1), which comprises the insulating components (2). The method comprises the method step of creating a repulsive electrostatic field (4) around said insulating components (2), by placing at least one repulsive electrode (8) in or on at least one of the insulating components (2) and applying an adequate voltage to the repulsive electrode (8). The voltage difference between the repulsive electrode (8) and the central electrode (6) and the voltage difference between the repulsive electrode (8) and the peripheral electrode (7) creates an electrical repulsive field (4), which repulses the particles of soot having an electrical charge. The formation of a conducting channel (5) on the surface of said insulating components (2) between the central electrode (6) and the peripheral electrode (7) can thus be avoided.

  • Patent number: 6185934
Abstract: The invention discloses a device for filtering internal combustion engine exhaust gases, comprising an electrostatic filtering chamber equipped with electrostatic filtering means, a line for supplying gases into the chamber, in fluid communication with an inlet of the chamber, at one of the ends of the supply line, the other end of the supply line being provided with an opening having an inlet orifice adapted to allow the penetration of the exhaust gases and of a flow of ambient air for cooling the exhaust gases. In this device, the means for drawing the exhaust gases and the air flow are mounted downstream of an outlet of the chamber, to allow the mixture of air and gases to pass into the said chamber and reject the filtered gases into the environment and a filter for coarse solid particles and droplets derived from the mixture is mounted in the chamber, upstream of the electrostatic filtering means.
