  • Publication number: 20230243650
Abstract: Ruggedized sensor devices with decreased light scatter and associated methods and systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a ruggedized sensor window apparatus includes a protective window and a light scatter blocking component positioned between the protective window and an optical sensor. The protective window is configured to intersect an optical path of a transmission component and a receiver component of the optical sensor. The light scatter blocking component is opaque and has a low reflection coefficient to block light scattering from a sender beam of the optical sensor from reaching the receiver component. The light scatter blocking component has an aperture extending completely through from a first side to a second side opposite the first side. The aperture is configured to be positioned over the transmission component of the optical sensor to allow transmission of the sender beam to pass therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20230160727
Abstract: Self-cleaning sensor window devices for mine site equipment and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a self-cleaning sensor system includes a sensor housing having an opening, a sensor carried by the sensor housing, a self-cleaning window device coupled to the sensor enclosure and positioned at least partially within the opening. The self-cleaning window device comprises a window positioned forward of the sensor to allow the sensor to transmit and/or receive signals through the window, a cleaning assembly directed toward the window and configured to clean debris from the front surface of the window, and a controller operably coupled to the cleaning assembly. The controller can transmit control signals to the cleaning assembly to initiate cleaning of the front surface of the window.

  • Publication number: 20230160182
Abstract: Mining shovel with compositional multispectral and/or hyperspectral imaging and associated methods and systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a mining detection system includes a mining bucket carrying a multispectral and/or hyperspectral imaging system and various sensors directed toward material entering and positioned within the bucket. The bucket can also carry a control enclosure housing image and sensor processing equipment that receives and analyzes the data collected by the multispectral and/or hyperspectral imaging system and the sensors. The disclosed systems and methods can provide real-time compositional analysis of mined materials at the mining site, which can be used to manage a mining field, including generating and transmitting instructions for where the material within the bucket should be delivered based on the data collected from the multispectral and/or hyperspectral imaging system and the sensors.
