    Abstract: An authentication method. The method comprises comparing user voice data received via an electronic device to a stored voice template to determine a voice authentication parameter. A voice authentication threshold is determined and the voice authentication parameter is compared to the voice authentication threshold to determine whether to authenticate the user. Determining the voice authentication threshold comprises determining a current value of an enrollment counter, then comparing the current value of the enrollment counter to an enrollment counter threshold and determining whether the stored voice template is fully enrolled according to the result. If the stored voice template is fully enrolled, the voice authentication threshold is set to a first voice authentication threshold. If the stored voice template is not fully enrolled then a device attribute received from the electronic device is compared to a stored device attribute.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a method for detecting potentially fraudulent activity in a remote financial transaction system. The system comprises a client computing device configured for data communication with a financial services server via a data communications network. The client computing device is further configured to display a web page for receiving transaction information from a user and to communicate the received transaction information to the financial services server via the data communications network in order to effect the financial transaction. The method comprises, when transaction information is communicated to the financial services server by the client computing device, the client computing device additionally communicating meta data relating to the configuration of the web page to a configuration data server via the data communications network. The method further comprises the configuration data server comparing the received meta data to a stored template of meta data for the web page.

The system comprises means for receiving an authentication request associated with the transaction wherein the request comprises data identifying a communication device associated with a user authorised to perform the transaction; means for sending a Mobile Application Part, MAP, protocol request message in response to the authentication request; means for receiving, in response to the MAP protocol request, data indicative of whether a communication sent to the communication device will be forwarded to a different communication device. The received data indicative of whether a communication sent to the communication device will be forwarded to a different communication device is used in determining whether to authenticate the transaction.
