  • Patent number: 10727034
Abstract: A magnet bar assembly for a rotary target cathode comprises a support structure, a magnet bar structure movably attached to the support structure and including a plurality of magnets, and a positioning mechanism operatively coupled to the support structure and the magnet bar structure. The positioning mechanism is configured to move the magnet bar structure between a retracted position and a deployed position while inside a magnetic target material cylinder. The retracted position substantially reduces a magnetic force between the magnets and a magnetic target material of a target cylinder when the magnet bar assembly is inserted into the target cylinder or removed from the target cylinder. The deployed position substantially increases the magnetic force between the magnets and the magnetic target material when the magnet bar assembly is in the target cylinder, and allows a magnetic field from the magnet bar structure to penetrate through the magnetic target material.

  • Patent number: 10725308
Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) presented herein comprises a shell and a controller. The shell encloses a display element and includes a dynamic attenuator having one or more controllable pixels that control an amount of light from the local area to an eye box of the HMD. The controller determines, based on positional information for one or more objects in a local area surrounding the HMD, whether a user wearing the HMD is within a threshold distance of an object in the local area. Responsive to the determination, the controller identifies a field of view that includes the object. The controller instructs the dynamic attenuator to allow light from the local area over the identified field of view into the HMD.

  • Patent number: 10724235
Abstract: Method of forming a concrete slab to reduce or eliminate control joints includes preparing a substantially flat base, overlaying one or more barriers on top of the base, placing a concrete mixture on top of the barrier(s) and base to form a concrete slab, and allowing the concrete to cure without forming control joints. The base is prepared with a flatness of about ±¼ inch over 10 feet. A side edge is prepared along a periphery of the concrete slab by extending a vapor barrier from a bottom surface of the slab up the side edge toward a top surface of the slab and covering the side edge. A plurality of post-tensioning cables are positioned to extend through the slab and configured to compress and assist in controlling accelerated displacement of the concrete slab during curing and shrinkage. The concrete slab is formed of an evenly gradated and low slump concrete having high fiber content, minimized cement content, and maximized size of large aggregate.
