Abstract: Methods and apparatus suitable for quickly and accurately measuring 13C levels and supporting data in an aqueous fluid reservoir. Interpreting the resulting data to indicate key factors regarding a reservoir and completion methods, including reservoir constraint, gas producibility, and completion success. A sensor and to a sensing method that evaluates the level of hydrologic constraint in aquifers occurring in unconventional reservoirs, such as shales and coals is disclosed. Specifically, Raman spectroscopy is disclosed as a sensor and a sensing method that measures the level of naturally-occurring 13C in an aqueous reservoir and compares the level of 13C to the levels typical for highly constrained and highly unconstrained reservoirs. The disclosed sensor and sensing method also monitors the level of naturally-occurring 13C in a reservoir. • Publication number: 20180326766
Abstract: A printer includes a conveyor that feeds objects from a stack of nested objects to the printer. The conveyor includes a member having protuberances that extend from the member to hold the lips of objects in the stack except for the object closest to the printheads in the printer. A spindle mounted to a member is moved to be within an orifice of the object closest to the printheads to engage that object and pull it from the stack. The spindle rotates to facilitate the printing of the object. After the object is printed, it is released from the spindle and gravity directs the printed object along a ramp to an opening in the printer for collection.

  • Publication number: 20180330111
Abstract: The invention relates to a device that is set up for device-internal handling of data in a text format, that has a communication interface set up to interchange binary data, particularly EXI data, and that provides a coder for reciprocally converting the binary data into text format data, wherein the coder is set up to associate resource descriptions with a respective identification number. This association is managed via a resource table, which is managed by the coder and in which a respective resource description in text form has an associated respective identification number. In addition, the device has, in a manner that is standard in the art, at least one device-internal database for storing resources and the relationships between said resources. According to the invention, a database access control unit is provided that has access both to the database and to the resource table. Centralisation of the resource table advantageously avoids redundant storage of resource descriptions.

  • Publication number: 20180328104
Abstract: A retractable cover for architectural openings having collapsible vanes includes a support structure in the form of a sheet of material, monofilaments, tapes, ribbons, cords, or the like, supporting an upper edge of a plurality of vertically spaced, horizontally extending vanes with the lower edges of the vanes in most embodiments of the invention being connected to operating elements adapted to raise the lower edges of each vane toward the upper edges to define openings or gaps between the vanes through which vision and light can pass in an open condition of the covering. Variations of the covering do not require movement of a lower edge of a vane relative to an upper edge but simply movement of some vanes relative to other vanes. The vanes can be made of materials having different flexibilities and where more rigid materials are used, creased fold lines can be established for desired operability.

  • Publication number: 20180332693
Abstract: Techniques are described for a lighting system in which light sources are controllable using signals sent over a wireless mesh network. During a commissioning process, a user interface (UI) may present a representation of nodes (e.g., light sources, sensors, controllers, etc.) that are broadcasting a wireless advertising signal. In response to a selection of a particular node, a wireless message may be sent to instruct the selected node to provide a visual indication of its presence, such as a flashing light. The visual indication may enable a user to discern the physical location of the node, such that each node may be added to the mesh network and, in some instances, to a group of nodes. The UI may also enable the definition of scenes, where each scene describes the brightness level or other operating characteristics of particular light source(s) and/or group(s) of light sources when the scene is active.
