  • Patent number: 12330525
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for assembly line charging of vehicle batteries. In an embodiment, the method includes receiving battery data of a plurality of vehicle batteries on an assembly line, the received battery data including electric charge data of each vehicle battery of the plurality of vehicle batteries, each of the plurality of vehicle batteries being powered by a corresponding linear section of a stationary power transmitter line, calculating a vehicle battery charge of each of the plurality of vehicle batteries based on the received electric charge data, evaluating the calculated vehicle battery charge of each of the plurality of vehicle batteries relative to associated vehicle battery charge parameters, and adjusting a power supplied to the corresponding linear section of the stationary power transmitter line based on the evaluation of the calculated vehicle battery charge of each of the plurality of vehicle batteries.

  • Patent number: 10609159
Abstract: Embodiments provide workload processing for clustered systems. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a computer-implemented method may include identifying a server as an active node of a cluster; assigning a workload to the server in response to the identification; determining, after the assignment, that the server is no longer an active node of the cluster; calculating, in response to the determination, a probability that the server is capable of continuing to execute the workload; and deciding, based upon the probability, whether to allow the workload to remain assigned to the server.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 31, 2020
    Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC
Inventors: Lokesh Srinivas Koppolu, David A. Dion, Abhinit Kumar, Amitabh P. Tamhane, Andrea D'Amato, Daniel Upton, Elden T. Christensen, Nicholas Maliwacki

  • Patent number: 7225533
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus and methods for applying a material to a cable or into a conduit. The apparatus includes a hinged housing for coupling to a portion of a cable and/or a conduit. The apparatus is configured as a portable housing that is particularly suited for use in the field to apply a material to an existing underground cable or conduit or to a new or relocated cable or conduit during installation. The hinged housing permits the apparatus to couple to a portion of a cable or a portion of a conduit without splicing the cable or the conduit or removing the cable. When coupled to a cable or a conduit, the housing defines a chamber into which a material is inserted. Compressed air is supplied to the chamber to force the material into an innerduct of the conduit and to pull the material therethrough, applying the material to the cable and/or the conduit.
