    Abstract: The printer comprises image-forming stations at which developed toner images are formed and electrostatically transferred in register to an endless primary belt. A heat transfer minimizing nip contact is formed between the primary belt and an intermediate belt. The intermediate belt is heated downstream of the nip to heat the image thereon and to transfer the image from the intermediate belt to a substrate.
