To let the X-rays out of the tube, in the case of an X-ray generator tube, when the wall of the tube is made of metal, the invention provides an exit window (50) that is made of pyrolytic graphite. The window preferably has a bell shape and is brazed to a copper collar (60) that is itself brazed to the metal wall (10) of the tube.
