    Abstract: Provided are methods for the treatment or prevention of microbial infections (e.g., bacterial infection) in which the underlying pathology involves a PNAG-expressing microbe (e.g., PNAG-expressing bacteria). The methods of the invention generally involve administering to the subject an effective amount of an antibody that specifically binds to PNAG. Such methods are particularly useful for the treatment of nosocomial staphylococcus (e.g., S. epidermidis and S. aureus) infections.
