  • Patent number: 11918979
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for activating a photocatalytically active, for example titanium-dioxide-containing, outer layer (13; 23) deposited on a composite, by means of at least one element (14; 24) generating a radiation, for example for generating ultraviolet radiation. The following method steps are comprised here: •a) forming the at least one radiation-generating first element (14; 24) within the composite; •b) forming at least one sensor (16; 26) within the composite; •c) recording an actual value of a physical variable characterizing luminous radiation by means of the at least one sensor (16; 26), wherein the luminous radiation is emitted by a light-generating second element (15; 25); •d) comparing the recorded actual value with a first threshold value within an evaluation device and switching on the at least one radiation-generating first element (14; 24) if the actual value is below or above the first threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20240012527
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for effecting an RFID-based finger input sensing system using a transmission line connected to at least two RFID tags, by analyzing a plurality of features relating to the number of spikes in the derivatives of the RSS, timing of maximum RSS and the spikes of the RSS derivatives, relative RSS magnitude between the at least two RFID tags, and increase/decrease trend of the RSS, thereby eliminating the need for calibration and training.

  • Patent number: 11425558
Abstract: Privacy centric feature analysis. A secure set of multiple mapped features is selected and provided to a mobile device. Each mapped feature maps a sharable feature to a matching criterion for an item of protected information and no combination of mapped features for a secure set are unique to an individual item of protected information. Privacy compliance instructions enable the mobile device to select a mapped feature from a received set of mapped features by identifying an item of protected information available to the mobile device which corresponds to a matching criterion found in the received set of mapped features. The sharable feature of the selected mapped feature is provided. Advantageously, the analysis system protects the privacy of the mobile device user because it does not require the mobile device to relay protected information for the selection of customized content or relevant advertisements.

  • Patent number: 11159573
Abstract: Selective regulation of information transmission from mobile applications to an external system. A privacy policy is configured for and mapped to each of a multiplicity of mobile application concerns, with each privacy policy comprising rules regulating the transmission of information to an external system. Instrumentation instructions can be integrated with a mobile application or mobile operating system. The instrumentation instructions direct the mobile device to submit a privacy policy request comprising an identifier from the mobile device to a third-party privacy compliance system and enable sending information from the mobile device to the external system, subject to the privacy policy. The privacy policy request is received at the third-party privacy compliance system which selects the privacy policy based on an identifier and sends the privacy policy to the mobile device for implementation.

  • Patent number: 10969441
Abstract: In various embodiments, an illumination apparatus is provided. The illumination apparatus includes a housing, in which at least one radiation source is fixed. A phosphor that is fastened to the housing is arranged downstream of the radiation source. The phosphor is connected to a crack detector, which is used for crack monitoring of the phosphor. A signal path is provided. The signal path connects the crack detector to an evaluation unit that is fixed to the housing. The signal path is formed by at least two contact pins and a flexible printed circuit board that is connected to the crack detector.

  • Publication number: 20170037968
Abstract: A piston-connecting rod assembly for an internal combustion engine includes a piston pivotally mated to a connecting rod by a piston pin. The piston pin includes a first pin end, a second pin end, and a midsection. When assembled, the first pin end and second pin end are respectively received in a first pin bore and second pin on the piston while the midsection is accommodated in a cross-bore through the connecting rod. The piston pin may include a wear resistant layer applied over at least a portion of its external surface that may include at least one of tungsten disulfide and molybdenum disulfide. The wear resistant layer may be applied as part of a manufacturing process performed on the piston pin.

  • Patent number: 9517402
Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments of the present invention uniquely identify players in a video game based on how a player interacts with a game and/or other players to generate a unique player identifier or player fingerprint. The player may also be categorized by player data or category to identify certain behavior (e.g., fraud). This unique information may be used to accurately authenticate the player to address fraud and other situations involving an unauthorized player. By verifying the identity of the player, an embodiment of the present invention may detect, minimize and/or prevent fraud and/or other situations where someone else is improperly playing or accessing another player's account. Authentication of player identity can also be used to detect cheating, improper sale of accounts, and other undesirable player behavior. Player fingerprint information may also be used to tailor information to the player (e.g., suggestions for other games, advertisements, instructional information, etc.).
