  • Patent number: 10718201
Abstract: A system and method for installing casing in a blind horizontal well for blind horizontal directional borings. The system and method may include an example of an offset transmitter sonde assembly that contains an open central passage through which well casing can be inserted, and an example of a drill bit assembly that may be remotely uncoupled from a drill string, leaving the bit in the bore created. Remote uncoupling of the drill bit assembly tends to allow a casing to be installed in the bore while the drill string and bit remain in the bore for support during casing installation. After installation of the casing the drill bit assembly may be uncoupled from the drill string, allowing the drill string to be withdrawn from the bore, with the drill bit assembly remaining in the bore.

  • Publication number: 20200031694
Abstract: Groundwater treatment systems and methods that include a filter or media cartridge that can be interconnected with one or more other media cartridges to form a series of media cartridges. The media cartridge includes media retained therein that treat and/or filters groundwater as it permeates through the media. The media can include reactive media to assist with treating the groundwater. Additionally, the media cartridge includes a baffle positioned within the media and contacting an inner surface of the media cartridge to prevent the formation of channels within the media. An external seal can be positioned about the exterior of the media cartridge to prevent groundwater from bypassing the media cartridge.

  • Patent number: 10465486
Abstract: An improved well screen with an integrated filter or treatment media assembly. An integrated assembly for use in horizontal well installations in which the well screen may be installed without special procedures, and without necessitating the use of a sand pack. An inner extrusion supports a textile sock that may include reactive material. The material is protected by an outer well screen.

  • Patent number: 10036240
Abstract: A drill assembly with a drill body coupled to a drilling string and a sonde body having a least one chamber defined therein for receiving locating electronics therein. In disclosed embodiment, the one or more chambers may be provided and the electronics can include a battery, a sensor, a transmitter, an antenna and connecting wires. One or more secure windows may be provided in the sonde body to allow the locating electronics to wirelessly transmit outside of the sonde body. The electronics may be potted within the chamber with a solidifying potting agent to improve durability of the electronics in a drilling environment.

  • Patent number: 9777467
Abstract: A system for a water supply well that incorporates a vertical well with one or more horizontally drilled collectors extending therefrom. All of the horizontally drilled collectors may be constructed using horizontal directional drilling techniques with the main drilling equipment positioned on the ground surface and thereby defining a surface port for accessing the horizontal collector. The horizontal collector may be cleaned and maintained through the surface port without requiring access through the vertical well.
