  • Publication number: 20070293324
Abstract: A slot track management system for use with at least one racecar includes a track having a plurality of slots and a plurality of metal strips along the slots for conveying current to a respective racecar. A starting line is perpendicular to the slots. The system includes a processor, start and information displays. At least two south-pole sensors are situated adjacent each slot and the starting line for detecting the presence of a racecar. The processor includes programming for distinguishing between race cars based on data from the sensors, calculating race performance information, actuating the information display to display the calculated race performance data, and actuating the start display indicative of a start time. The start display may include a lighting configuration characteristic of a NHRA Christmas tree. The system enables race fans to experience characteristics of multi-lap racing and drag racing.

  • Patent number: 4445008
Abstract: A snap-together housing is disclosed having a single fastener holding the multi-part housing together. The housing has a base, around which upper and lower panels fit in a clamshell arrangement. The wrap-around panels provide design contours and are the color bearing elements of the housing. Easy installation is achieved by a tab positioned at the rear of the lower panel which allows the lower panel to rotate upward around the base. A tab on the inner front surface of the lower panel engages a detent on the front of the base thereby preventing the lower panel from rotating downward without first being laterally separated from the base. The upper panel, held in position by a single fastener, interlocks with the front surface of the lower panel to prevent the lateral separation.

  • Patent number: 4385212
Abstract: An expandable telephone housing has been developed which allows for easy lateral expansion. The housing contains front and rear slides and an end cap which is removable. For expansion the end cap is removed exposing a mating mechanism for locking to an expansion housing. The expansion housing contains a face plate having additional lamps or buttons. New, and longer, front and rear slides are positioned along the front and rear edges of the combined housing to secure the now elongated structure. When assembled, the combined housings give the appearance of a single housing. The rear slide may be arranged for securing an auxiliary display unit.

  • Patent number: 4169218
Abstract: A telephone station set has subscriber-interface elements associated with rotatable panel (11). Rotatable panel (11) is adapted to serve as a sunshade visor in an automobile. In panel (11), exterior cavity (14) readily accommodates handset (16) in either of two hangup positions. Handset (16) is compact and nonsymmetrical while the interior of cavity (14) completely contains the handset in either of the hangup positions. This arrangement provides the convenience of one handed operation by either hand of an operator. Coiled handset cord (27) emerges from a centrally located port (28) to provide the electrical connection compatible with this convenient operation.
