  • Patent number: 8161856
Abstract: A cutting apparatus having an annular-shaped cutting head and an impeller assembly coaxially mounted for rotation within the cutting head to deliver food products radially outward toward the cutting head. The cutting head has at least one knife extending radially inward toward the impeller assembly. The knife has a cutting edge at a radially innermost extremity and a radially outer face that defines a trajectory plane for slices removed from the products by the cutting edge. The knife is clamped to the cutting head with a clamping feature that provides clearance for slices when traveling the trajectory plane of the knife.

  • Publication number: 20110132953
Abstract: A hammer holder having a support member for attachment to a belt, garment, tool bag or nail pouch of a hammer user. The hammer holder includes a U shaped chamber integrated with the support member and provides support for the hammer head and for the hammer handle in an upright vertical position when the support member is connected to a belt or a user. The chamber is large enough to contain the head of the hammer and includes stop means which prevents the head of the hammer from passing through the chamber or out the top of the chamber. A clip is attached to the support member for receiving the vertically oriented handle of the hammer and a movable gate member pivotally attached to the support member permits the hammer handle to move into the clip and spring back to prevent the handle from moving out of the clip.

  • Publication number: 20100114396
Abstract: A system and method for remotely regulating the power consumption of a device are provided. The method comprises sending a message from a remote location and over a wide area data network to a controller locally attached to a device. The method further comprises adjusting, at the controller, the power supplied to the device based on the message.

  • Patent number: 7658133
Abstract: A cutting apparatus having an annular-shaped cutting head and an impeller assembly coaxially mounted for rotation within the cutting head to deliver food products radially outward toward the cutting head. The cutting head has at least one knife extending radially inward toward the impeller assembly. The impeller assembly is equipped with paddles, each having a radially outer extremity adjacent the impeller assembly, a radially inner extremity, and a face therebetween facing the rotational direction of the impeller assembly. According to preferred aspects of the invention, removable posts radially extend from the radially outer extremity of each paddle, and/or the face of each paddle has grooves transverse to a radial of the impeller assembly.

  • Patent number: 7383576
Abstract: A method and system for managing security information for a domain of computer systems is provided. The security system displays security information for a selected security object, such as a user or a computer system. The security system initially retrieves security information that includes security specifications that each has the identification of an entity, a resource, and an access right for the selected security object. The security system then displays an identification of the entity and the resource along with the access right for each security specification. When the security information is stored in a security store (i.e., the main security store) by resource and, for each resource, the entities that have access rights to that resource, the security system may use an auxiliary security store to facilitate the retrieval of the security information.

  • Publication number: 20070195793
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for selective layer 2 port blocking using layer 2 source addresses are disclosed. According to one method, a layer 2 frame is received. An I/O port block list is identified based on a layer 2 source address in the layer 2 frame. A set of ports to which the layer 2 fame should be forwarded is identified. The frame is blocked from being forwarded to ports in the set that are also in the I/O port block list.

  • Patent number: 7000518
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting food product so that the product is properly oriented and stabilized before and throughout the cutting operation to produce a sliced product of uniform thickness, even if the delivered food product varies in shape and size, such as when both round and elongate potatoes are used to produce potato chips. The apparatus includes a cutting device and housing thereabove that defines a passage with an opening in proximity to the cutting device, such that food product is delivered to the cutting device in a substantially vertical direction. To improve the stability of round product during the cutting operation, the housing has an upper portion and a flared lower portion immediately below the upper portion so that at least a portion of the opening of the passage is defined by the flared region and has a larger radius of curvature than the upper portion.
