    Abstract: Microwavable and/or boilable packaged corn-on-the-cob includes one or more ears of fresh, shucked or partially shucked corn, each individually enveloped in an at least partially gas-impermeable and at least partially moisture impermeable transparent film that may be suited for microwave cooking and boiling and may include an easy-open strip. Each of the enveloped one or more ears is placed vertically in a shank-down orientation in a holder having at least one compartment for holding an ear of corn. The at least one ear of corn can be secured in the compartment by a suitable means. Units of packaged corn can be placed into a shipping container with the ears arranged vertically with the shank end down to minimize physical damage during shipping.
