Publication number: 20240116181Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed towards generating a trajectory for use by a robot to perform an operation on a target object. A method includes a robot instructed to traverse a surface of the target object from the starting position and obtain sensor input from a sensor system of the robot using a first trajectory specified by a CAD file for the target object. Sensor input that includes a first height to the target object, a width of the seam, and a depth of the seam may be received. A second trajectory may be generated for traversing the surface of the target object and that modifies the first trajectory based on the sensor input. The robot may be instructed to move to the starting position and traverse the surface of the target object using the second trajectory and apply a sealant to the seam.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Ademola Ayodeji ORIDATE, William WILDER, Nicole MAGPANTAY, Daniel MORAN

Publication number: 20240069847Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a display system. The methods comprise: detecting an occurrence of an event; initiating a display session based on the event being of an event type to trigger a display session; and selecting media content (MC) for display by computing devices (ICDs) (wherein ICDs are located in areas or sections (SA/S) of a venue); selecting a first SA/S at which display of MC is to begin; identifying first CDs (FCDs) that are located in the first SA/S; causing FCDs to notify users that FCDs are to be moved into positions in which first pixel panels are visible by persons located outside of the first SA/S; and causing each FCD to display a respective pixel portion of a first electronic graphic (FEI) contained in MC, whereby an entirety of FEI is displayed collectively by FCDs.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Lance Decker, Bradley Hartman, Daniel Korbelic, DeAndrew Daniel, Sherman Wilder, Tyler Culley, Christopher Smith

Patent number: 9160742Abstract: An improved technique involves sending a user's authentication information to a local authentication device that computes a risk score and sends the risk score to a remote authentication server that determines whether the user is able to be authenticated. When the user makes an authentication or transaction request from an electronic device such as a computer or smartphone, the electronic device sends predictor values such as geo location and wireless signal strength to the local authentication device. The local authentication device then computes a risk score based on the received predictor values and historical predictor values. The local authentication device sends this risk score to a remote authentication server which determines from this risk score and other factors whether the user is able to be authenticated.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Karl Ackerman, Edward W Vipond, Daniel A Wilder, Yong Qiao

Patent number: 9119069Abstract: An apparatus comprises a processing device comprising a near field communication (NFC) network interface, a memory and a processor coupled to a memory. The processing device is configured under control of the processor to connect to a host device using the NFC network interface, receive an authentication request from another device through the NFC connection with the host device and authenticate the other device using information stored in the memory. A passcode is presented to the host device responsive to a successful authentication of the other device, the passcode being utilizable to authenticate to a resource protected by the other device.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: August 25, 2015Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Edward W. Patent number: 7973607Abstract: A technique involves the use of an electronic device having a real-time clock (RTC) circuit. In particular, the technique involves obtaining an RTC value from the RTC circuit. The RTC value is based on a previous time value and being arranged to represent current time. The technique further involves generating an adjustment factor arranged to adjust for imperfection in an oscillator of the RTC circuit, and providing a new time value based on the RTC value and the adjustment factor. The new time value represents current time at least as accurately as the RTC value.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2008Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Marco Ciaffi, Daniel Wilder

Patent number: 7921311Abstract: An authentication device or other type of low-power hand-held device comprises a processor, an external button alternately configurable in an unpressed state and a pressed state, and current drain mitigation circuitry coupled to the external button and a corresponding input of the processor. The current drain mitigation circuitry is configured to connect the input of the processor to a first potential when the external button is in the unpressed state and to connect the input of the processor to a second potential different than the first potential when the external button is in the pressed state, thereby limiting current drain arising from the external button being stuck in the pressed state.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2007Date of Patent: April 5, 2011Assignee: EMC CorporationInventors: Marco Ciaffi, Larnie Rabinowitz, Daniel Wilder

Publication number: 20050129334Abstract: An event-photo-retrieval system and method has at least one event camera (1), a central database (3), an event-photograph selector (5) and a purchase terminal (6) which are programmed electronically. The event camera includes a digital camera which, for each event attendee (15), quantizes gestalt individual features for programmed face recognition software. The attendee photograph with face recognition software programming is digitized and transmitted to the central database. The event camera photographs event activities for providing event photographs (29) that include event groups (30), event attendees, and event-scenery photographs (10). With the event-photograph selector, event photographs are selectable by the individual attendee in accordance with face recognition software programming. With the purchase terminal, the event attendee actuates a credit-card purchase of any event photographs selected accordingly.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2003Publication date: June 16, 2005Inventors: Daniel Wilder, Robert Fizer
