Patent number: 12657968Abstract: A system of a first vehicle automatically exchanging collision reports with a second vehicle is provided. The vehicle system includes a collision detection verification module in electrical communication with a plurality of sensors and a vehicle database. The collision detection module detects whether a collision event has occurred between the first vehicle and the second vehicle based on the sensed vehicle data acquired, broadcasts a first collision message when the collision event has occurred, and exchanges, with the second vehicle, a first collision report for a second collision report based on the first collision message. The first collision report includes a first driver insurance information associated with the first vehicle and the second collision report includes a second driver insurance information associated with the second vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2024Date of Patent: June 16, 2026Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, Daniel Xie, Patrick Giancarlo Gabriel DiGioacchino, Utkarsh Saini

Patent number: 12625917Abstract: A method and system for collecting, matching and reporting evidence related to a collision event captured on a first collision detection device associated with a vehicular transportation system. A first incident report of the collision event communicated from the first collision detection device to the cloud-based application. The first incident report includes image data, location data, and temporal data of the collision event. A collision event database of the cloud-based application is searched to locate a second incident report of the collision event. The first incident report is compiled with the second incident report when the collision event of the first incident report matches the recorded collision event of the second incident report. A collision evidence report is generated based on the compiled first and second incident reports.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2024Date of Patent: May 12, 2026Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, Patrick Giancarlo Gabriel DiGioacchino, Utkarsh Saini, Daniel Xie

Publication number: 20260127959Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for matching vehicles related to a collision event involving a first vehicle and a second vehicle. A first collision message having data related to a first collision event detected by the first vehicle with a first unknown vehicle is received by a collision matching application. The collision matching application determines whether a second collision message having data related to a second collision event detected by the second vehicle with a second unknown vehicle has been received. The first and second collision messages are compared to determine whether the first collision event is the same as the second collision event. A first collision report is transmitted to the first vehicle and a second collision report to the second vehicle after determining that the first collision event is the same as the second collision event.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2024Publication date: May 7, 2026Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, Daniel Xie, Utkarsh Saini, Patrick Giancarlo Gabriel DiGioacchino

Publication number: 20260127888Abstract: A system and method for collecting evidence with an observer device of a collision event of a vehicle on a road are provided. An image sensor captures image data during the collision event. A communication module receives a collision message broadcast from a vehicle involved in the collision event. An evidence collection module processes image data acquired from the image sensor to determine whether the collision event was captured. The evidence collection module also compares temporal and geographic data from the collision message collected by the involved vehicle during the collision event and with time and location metadata in the image data to flag an image of the collision event. An evidence report including the flagged image of the collision event is generated when the time and location metadata matches the temporal and geographic data, and the image data captured the collision event.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2024Publication date: May 7, 2026Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, Daniel Xie, Patrick Giancarlo Gabriel DiGioacchino, Utkarsh Saini

Patent number: 12394395Abstract: Vehicles and related systems and adaptive display adjustment methods include obtaining image data captured using an initial frame rate from an imaging system onboard the vehicle, obtaining current vehicle state information, determining a representative exposure setting for the imaging system based at least in part on the current vehicle state information, determining an estimated illuminance of a surrounding environment of the vehicle based at least in part on the image data and the representative exposure setting and automatically configuring the imaging system for a different, updated frame rate based on the estimated illuminance. Thereafter, the method continues by obtaining subsequent image data captured using the updated frame rate, providing a graphical user interface including a graphical representation of the subsequent image data on a display device associated with the vehicle, and dynamically adjusting a display characteristic after configuring the imaging system for the updated frame rate.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2023Date of Patent: August 19, 2025Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohamed A.
