  • Publication number: 20230061046
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for ultrasound stimulation for immunomodulation treatment. Ultrasound stimulation of the spleen may be used to alter immune and thereby inflammatory responses of a subject by modulating specific biomarkers or cytokines associated with inflammation. A closed-loop or responsive ultrasound stimulation of the spleen may be implemented by tracking biomarkers in the blood that indicate when the stimulation is working. Modulation of specific cytokines and/or erythrocyte sedimentation rate may be performed in response to ultrasound stimulation in a diseased state.

  • Patent number: 11595043
Abstract: Technologies and techniques for operating an appliance. A command button of an operating part is actuated, the actuation of the command button being detected by a microcontroller using measuring instruments. The read-in measured values are evaluated such that it is determined whether the measuring signal has a regular form for actuating the command button, or an irregular form. A function associated with the actuated command button is implemented if it is established that the measuring signal has a regular form. When a regular form is identified, optionally an acoustic, haptic or optical acknowledgement signal is emitted, and when an irregular form is identified, an acoustic, haptic or optical fault signal is emitted.

  • Publication number: 20220277249
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, processing systems, and computer-readable mediums for benchmarking based on company vendor data. Transactions identifying vendors are received for a group of companies whose industry is known. For each identified vendor, a vendor embedding is generated in the form of a vector representing a distribution of transactions for the vendor across industries represented by the companies. For each company, a company embedding is generated in the form of a vector representing an aggregation of vendor embeddings from vendors with which the company has had a transaction. The company embeddings are then clustered using an unsupervised clustering method such as k-Means clustering. For a new company, a company embedding is generated and correlated to the appropriate cluster. Based on the cluster correlated to the new company, data is generated from other companies in the cluster that may be used to benchmark the new company.

  • Publication number: 20220080197
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for combined ultrasound and electrical stimulation for treating inflammation, autoimmune disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, and the like. Noninvasive ultrasound stimulation may be applied to the spleen, joints, limbs, or a region experiencing pain that has local swelling, and electrical stimulation may be applied to the face, neck, or other body region to access a peripheral nerve, vagus nerve, trigeminal nerve, or other nerves in appropriately-timed patterns to drive therapeutic effects. Stimulation timings or delay timings may be optimized based upon a desired clinical effect or treatment. Multiple targets may be stimulated in a coordinated fashion to better mimic natural physiology. A wearable ultrasound phased array device may be used to beam form energy to target the spleen while also having imaging capabilities to track the motion of the spleen to maintain localized stimulation of target regions.

  • Patent number: 5648645
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting excess speed of an elevator car travelling in an elevator shaft includes a vertically extending measuring strip is mounted at one side of the shaft and a multichannel forked light barrier assembly mounted on the car with a pair of legs extending on opposite sides of the strip. The measuring strip has a vertically extending markings track in the form of flags side-by-side with a check track, each of which is scanned by a separate light barrier transmitting a light beam between the legs of the forked light barrier assembly. At the position of each flag there is formed a window in the check track. The speed of the elevator car is measured by detecting the time required to pass each flag and the elevator car is stopped in the case of excess speed. By reason of the arrangement of the flag track and the check track, possible faults can be detected since one light barrier must always be interrupted by reason the flags and the windows.
