  • Patent number: 11959090
Abstract: Compositions and methods for controlling pests are provided. The methods involve transforming organisms with a nucleic acid sequence encoding an insecticidal protein. In particular, the nucleic acid sequences are useful for preparing plants and microorganisms that possess insecticidal activity. Thus, transformed bacteria, plants, plant cells, plant tissues and seeds are provided. Compositions are insecticidal nucleic acids and proteins of bacterial species. The sequences find use in the construction of expression vectors for subsequent transformation into organisms of interest including plants, as probes for the isolation of other homologous (or partially homologous) genes. The pesticidal proteins find use in controlling, inhibiting growth or killing Lepidopteran, Coleopteran, Dipteran, fungal, Hemipteran and nematode pest populations and for producing compositions with insecticidal activity.

  • Publication number: 20240112063
Abstract: A method and system for estimating the ground state energy of a quantum Hamiltonian. The disclosed algorithm may run on any hardware and is suited for early fault tolerant quantum computers. The algorithm employs low-depth quantum circuits with one ancilla qubit with classical post-processing. The algorithm first draws samples from Hadamard tests in which the unitary is a controlled time evolution of the Hamiltonian. The samples are used for evaluating the convolution of the spectral measure and a filter function, and then inferring the ground state energy from this convolution. Quantum circuit depth is linear in the inverse spectral gap and poly-logarithmic in the inverse target accuracy and inverse initial overlap. Runtime is polynomial in the inverse spectral gap, inverse target accuracy, and inverse initial overlap. The algorithm produces a highly-accurate estimate of the ground state energy with reasonable runtime using low-depth quantum circuits.

  • Publication number: 20240092054
Abstract: A thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film further includes a plurality of web areas positioned about the plurality of raised rib-like elements. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a complex stretch profile.

  • Patent number: 11937135
Abstract: A delta configuration is signaled for handover of a wireless communication device (e.g., a user equipment, UE) from a first form of connectivity to a second form of connectivity. For example, a UE with master cell group (MCG) connectivity may be handed-over to multiple radio access technology-dual connectivity (MR-DC). In some examples, a UE with standalone (SA) connectivity may be handed-over to non-standalone (NSA) connectivity (e.g., dual connectivity). In conjunction with this handover the UE may be signaled as to whether the UE is to reuse a configuration from the first connectivity mode during the second connectivity mode.

  • Patent number: 8706833
Abstract: A data storage server is programmed with common software modules for management, version control, and scheduling of replication of data storage objects of multiple data storage object types. The multiple data storage object types include iSCSI LUNs, file systems, virtual servers, directories, and files. The version control determines if two data storage objects are the same or have a common base so that only a difference needs to be transmitted for replication or restoration. The scheduler controls the timing of snapshot creation and deletion, and replication transmission to one or more remote destinations. The scheduler may ensure that a replica of a data storage object is out-of-sync with the original of the data storage object by no more than a specified amount of time.

  • Patent number: 8526811
Abstract: A photodiode array includes a plurality of monitoring photodiodes capable operating in a voltage mode configuration each able to provide a voltage indicating an intensity of an incident light. Integrated with the monitoring photodiodes is a reference diode configured to produce reference voltages in response to reference currents supplied to that diode. The monitoring photodiodes and the reference diode may be integrated and have the same current-voltage characteristics and the same temperature, for example by fabricating them on the same substrate. The reference diode is supplied with the reference currents in dark manner, meaning without incident light impinging on the reference diode. The resulting reference voltages, the reference source currents, and the measured photo-voltage from the monitoring photodiodes are than used to determine an optical power value at any temperature within the operation temperature range.

  • Patent number: 8248536
Abstract: The invention provides techniques for separating luma and chroma signal components in a composite SECAM video signal. During reception, the SECAM video signal is split into luma and chroma output. The amplitude of the chroma carrier is monitored during reception. If the chroma carrier amplitude is greater than a threshold, the value of the chroma output can be reduced. Also, if the chroma carrier amplitude is greater than another threshold, a portion of the chroma carrier can be added to the luma; or the trap band of the band-trap filter for extracting luma from the composite video can be reduced. The respective amount of the reduction in the chroma output and the increase in the luma output are independently determined but both may proportional to the magnitude of the deviation in the chroma carrier amplitude from the different thresholds.

  • Patent number: 7961770
Abstract: A power monitoring system uses a low loss reflective element to partially split the output laser beams from an array of laser sources, in a parallel configuration, to produce a monitor beams for each laser source. Each of these monitor beams may propagate within the reflective element in a lossless manner under total internal reflection and into one of a plurality of photodiodes that sense an optical characteristic such as output beam intensity, where this sensed signal is then used as part of a feedback control to control operation of the laser sources in the array.

  • Patent number: 7769722
Abstract: A data storage server is programmed for management, version control, and scheduling of replication of multiple types of data storage objects including iSCSI LUNs and file systems. The version control determines if two data storage objects are the same or have a common base so that only a difference needs to be transmitted for replication or restoration. A replication job may specify a “one-to-many” replication or a cascaded replication, and any snapshot retention policy is propagated during a cascaded replication. Concurrent replication sessions to the same destination are paced in accordance with respective allocation shares of the reception bandwidth. File handle information is replicated so that a file handle issued by a primary data storage server can be used for accessing a replicated file in a secondary data storage server.

  • Patent number: 7765187
Abstract: Consistency errors may arise during replication of diverse data storage objects from servers in a data network. For preventing consistency errors, a server is programmed for responding to a request for a report of whether or not the server can replicate the dataset without causing a consistency error. Such a report is useful for replicating a consistency group of objects from more than one server. Preparation for replication can be begun at each of the servers, and if any of the servers fail to report that replication can be done without causing a consistency error, the preparation can be aborted so that write access by applications will not be disrupted while the potential problem is diagnosed and eliminated.
