    Abstract: A method of therapeutic treatment of a tumor pathology including melanoma, tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, and/or thyroid carcinoma by administering to a subject in need thereof melanocortin receptor-4 (MC4R) antagonists is provided. The melanocortin receptor-4 antagonists are suitable in a targeted anti-tumor treatment, and particularly in an adjuvant therapy or in a therapy affecting onset and/or progression of tumor metastasis. A pharmaceutical composition including a melanocortin receptor-4 (MC4R) antagonist in a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, and in combination with optional adjuvants, stabilizers and/or preservatives, is also provided.
