  • Publication number: 20240138916
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for robotic surgical systems including a non-contact marking device, comprising a body sized and shaped to be at least partially inserted into a guide slot of a scalpel guide; a shoulder extending outwardly from the body configured to limit a distance the body may be at least partially inserted into the guide slot of the scalpel guide; and a marking device configured to emit a light, the marking device configured to project light from a bottom face of the body such that the light projected by the marking device is coaxially aligned with a longitudinal axis of a tool guide of a surgical system when the non-contact marking device is at least partially inserted in the guide slot of the scalpel guide while the scalpel guide is inserted in the tool guide of the surgical system.

  • Publication number: 20240057985
Abstract: Coupling devices and related methods are disclosed herein, e.g., for coupling a surgical instrument to a navigation array or other component. The coupling device can reduce or eliminate movement between the instrument and the navigation array, improving navigation precision. The coupling device can be quick and easy to use, reducing or eliminating the need for extra steps or additional tools to attach or detach the instrument from the coupling device. In some embodiments, the single step of inserting an instrument into the coupling device can automatically lock the instrument within the coupling device in a toggle-free manner. The coupling device can include features for consistently attaching instruments thereto at a known or predetermined location and/or orientation.

  • Publication number: 20230235765
Abstract: A coupling and related methods are disclosed herein that can provide for coupling a first object and a second object with minimal play. A coupling can include a first coupling component having a cylindrical surface with a screw and a pin extending therefrom and a second coupling component having a prismatic surface with a first and a second through-hole. The first coupling component and the second coupling component can be configured such that relative motion between the first coupling component and the second coupling component can be restricted in all six degrees of freedom when the screw is engaged with the first through-hole to secure the cylindrical surface of the first component against the prismatic surface of the second component. The pin can be configured to maintain stability of the coupling and further limit relative movement, such that positioning and/or orientation errors between the first and second components is minimized.

  • Publication number: 20230172631
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for robotic surgical systems including a robotic arm, the systems comprising an end effector attached to the robotic arm and retaining an access guide, and an initial access tool detachably connected to the access guide, wherein the initial access tool comprises a housing, a shaft extending from the housing coaxially through the access guide, and a distal tip attached to the shaft and protruding from a portion of the access guide distal to the end effector, wherein the housing is adapted to prevent rotation with respect to the access guide. In some embodiments, the access guide is adapted to retain an initial access tool and one or more of a burring tool, a drilling tool, or a tapping tool.
