Abstract: A reversible locking device 1 for a tensioner 100 of a timing chain 20 includes a locking device body 3, integral with the tensioner 100 and protruding with respect to the body of the tensioner 100, which has a shaped slot 2. A perforated protrusion 4 is integral with the shoe 5 carried by the piston 6 and protrudes with respect to the shoe 5 so that its hole is aligned with the shaped slot. A rod 7 has a first part 8 with a shape complementary to that of the shaped slot 2 and a second part 9 bearing at one end a conical portion 10 adapted to couple it irreversibly to the perforated protrusion 4 integral with the shoe 5.

Abstract: A hydraulic tensioner is provided with a no-return device and with an anti-rotation device capable of being disabled having a pin, integral with the cylinder of the tensioner, which slides in a first longitudinal slot formed on the outer wall of the piston and a means able to disable the anti-rotation device. The disabling means includes a second slot, at right angles with respect to the first longitudinal slot to which it is connected, situated at the end of the first longitudinal slot nearer to the bottom of the cylinder. The second slot may also be a throat connected to the first longitudinal slot to which it is perpendicular, and which extends for the whole circumference of the piston. The second slot is preferably shaped as a ramp to join the bottom of the first longitudinal slot to the outer surface of the piston.

Abstract: A cartridge type hydraulic tensioner for a chain or belt is described comprising a cylinder (11) with an inner bore (13) and a hollow piston (12) sliding in the cylinder and biased outward by an elastic elements and by pressurized fluid fed into said bore (13), at least one rack (20) being formed on the skirt of the piston (12) and engaged by a toothed pad (21) passing through a corresponding aperture (22) formed in the wall of the cylinder and biased against the rack by an annular spring (25) housed in an annular seat (24) formed in the skirt of the cylinder (11) without protruding from the bulk of the cylinder.
