  • Publication number: 20190245300
Abstract: A connector housing assembly and a dress cover configured to provide multiple wire routing options are provided. The dress cover includes an exit path defining a path for which the wire bundle is routed. The dress cover further includes a tie feature and a tape feature. The tape feature is a generally planar member extending from an outer peripheral side of a back wall and is orthogonal to the plane of a first side wall of the dress cover and is coplanar with the exit path. The tie feature is mounted on the first side wall and is adjacent the exit path. The tie feature is disposed above a plane of the exit path so as to allow the tied bundle of wire to be tied along the plane of the exit path.

  • Patent number: 10236618
Abstract: A connector assembly is configured to withstand the bending force of a bundle of wires exerted onto the dress cover so as to maintain the engagement of the dress cover to the connector housing. The connector housing includes a locking tab is an outer surface of the connector housing. The dress cover includes a hood defining an exit path on one end for which the wire bundle is routed. The dress cover includes a locking leg configured to engage the locking tab so as to secure the dress cover to the connector housing. The connector housing further includes a reinforcing tab disposed on an inner surface of the dress cover and spaced apart from the locking leg. The locking leg and the reinforcement tab cooperate to pinch a side wall of the connector housing and help secure the engagement between the locking leg and the locking tab.

  • Patent number: 10153583
Abstract: A connector assemblies having a plurality of terminal cavities configured to hold a plurality of first terminal connections and a plurality of second terminal connections so as to minimize the bending of smaller wires is provided. The connector assembly includes a housing having a terminal board. The terminal cavities are disposed on the terminal board. The terminal cavities include a plurality of first terminal cavities configured to receive the plurality of first terminal connections and a plurality of second terminal cavities configured to receive the plurality of second terminal connections. The first terminal cavities are generally centered on the board so as to minimize a bend of the first wires when the plurality of first terminal connections are bundled with the plurality of second terminal connections.

  • Patent number: 9960548
Abstract: A connector assembly having a housing configured to hold a plurality of electric connections of different sizes is provided. The connector assembly includes a housing having a plurality of first through-holes and a plurality of second through-holes. The housing includes a plurality of first terminal housings and a plurality of second terminal housings. The first terminal housings are spaced apart from each other so as to define a first axial slot. The terminal positioning assurance includes a spacer configured to be inserted within the first axial slot so as to maintain a fixed spatial relationship between the first terminal housings, the spacer is closed by a terminal housing, so as to prevent water from infiltrating into the first through-holes.

  • Patent number: 9935389
Abstract: An inline connector housing assembly having a terminal positioning assurance configured to be released from the inline connector housing assembly so as to allow for the replacement of either a male or female electric connector is provided. The inline connector housing assembly includes a male housing, a female housing and at least one terminal positioning assurance. The male housing has a first elongated body with a first through-bore. A first finger lock is disposed within the first elongated body, and a locking plate is disposed within the first elongated body opposite the first finger lock. The locking plate includes a receiving aperture defining a first lip. The female housing includes a second elongated body with a second through-bore configured to receive the male housing. The terminal positioning assurance is removably engaged within the male housing and configured to engage the first finger lock.

  • Patent number: 9843126
Abstract: Connector housing assemblies configured to maintain the TPA in a pre-stage condition during shipment and to facilitate the engagement of the female housing into the male housing are provided. The female housing includes a second slot for receiving a female TPA. The female housing includes a female TPA support disposed adjacent the second slot extending a predetermined distance above the female TPA so as to prevent the female TPA from being pushed into the second slot from a top down load. The male housing includes a hood configured to receive the female TPA support so as to allow the female housing to be seated within the male housing. A lip may be disposed on a proximal end of the female housing. The lip extends above a top surface of the female housing a sufficient length so as to accommodate the push of a finger or thumb.
