Patent number: 11199297Abstract: An LED lamp includes a lamp base for insertion into a reflector of an automotive front lighting assembly; a panel extending from the lamp base with a first vertical side facing into one half of the reflector and a second vertical side facing into the other half of the reflector; a primary light source including a set of LED dies on each vertical side of the panel; a two-part shield including a first shield half shielding the LED dies on the first vertical side of the panel and a second shield half shielding the LED dies on the second vertical side of the panel. The two-part shield essentially has the form of a shield in a functionally equivalent filament lamp for providing a low beam. A lighting arrangement includes such an LED lamp; a reflector to receive the lamp; and an electrical interface for connecting to a controller.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2018Date of Patent: December 14, 2021Assignee: Lumileds LLCInventors: Bernd Schoenfelder, Andreas Timinger, Danijel Labas, Mark Elzinga

Patent number: 11107959Abstract: The invention relates to a light emitting device (LED), especially a LED at least partly embedded in transparent or translucent silicone fill, whereby the embedded LED is housed in a white silicone housing. Here and in the following, the wording transparent silicone fill always means a transparent or translucent silicone material. The invention further relates to a method for embedding the LED partly in a white silicone housing on the one hand and partly in transparent silicone fill on the other hand. The invention finally relates to the transparent silicone fill. The inner part of the LED device is at least partly embedded in transparent silicone fill, wherein the at least partly embedded LED device is housed in a white silicone housing comprising a white box silicone. A part of the inner part of the LED device is embedded in the white box silicone.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2019Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: Lumileds LLCInventors: Floris Maria Hermansz Crompvoets, Christian Kleijnen, Georg Henninger, Danijel Labas, Gerhard Hebbinghaus

Publication number: 20100142217Abstract: A lamp (10), particularly adapted for use as motor vehicle lamp, comprises a socket (12) made of a plastic material. The socket (12) may be adapted to support a burner for emitting light. The socket (12) comprises at least two connectors (22), by which the burner may be applied to an electric current. Each connector (22) comprises a terminal (24) protruding from the socket (12). According to the invention a metal cover (28) is provided, which receives the socket (12). The cover (28) comprises at least one opening (30) for providing an insulating space between the cover (28) and the terminals (24). Further the cover (28) is shaped to fit into a standardized holding recess of a reflector housing. Due to the design of the cover (28) the plastic material of the socket (12) may be significantly reduced and a good heat dissipation for the burner is provided, so that the lamp (10) is able to deal with a hot burner in a more cost efficient manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2008Publication date: June 10, 2010Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Markus Gerhard, Danijel Labas
