  • Patent number: 5435354
Abstract: An accelerator lever for quickly accelerating a projectile to a high velocity in a loom comprises a lever arm (1b) coupled to a rotating shaft (2) by a clamping device (1a). The clamping device includes at least two fasteners (4c) extending through holes in the lever arm and the clamping device and threadably coupled to elements (4a) on the opposite side of the lever arm. The fasteners and elements provide a positive locking connection to firmly connect the lever arm to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5259422
Abstract: The mechanism for the acceleration of a projectile of a projectile loom has a torsion-bar launching mechanism (1) with a striker lever (3) which, at its end remote from the torsion bar (2), carries a striker piece (34) which, during launching, acts directly on an impact face (43) of the projectile (4). The projectile (4) for the loom has a casing formed of a hollow body and may be partially closed at the rear, as viewed in the direction of flight. The striker piece (34) can pivot on the striker lever (3) and has at least one striker face (33) which is aligned by an alignment member (5) so that at the instant just prior to triggering of the weft insertion the position of the striker face conforms to that of the impact face (43) of the projectile (4); that is, for example, the two are parallel. The transmitted impact energy is uniformly distributed over the impact face of the projectile (4), which advantageously reduces wear of the striker face ( 33) and impact face (43).

  • Patent number: 5090455
Abstract: The picking mechanism is provided with two torsion bars. One torsion bar is stressed in order to accelerate a gripper projectile of the loom. The second torsion bar, upon release of the first torsion bar, is temporarily connected to the first torsion bar so that energy can be stored by the second torsion bar via a double-arm lever. During a return motion of the acceleration lever to a picking position, the second torsion bar is relieved of tension by delivering the stored energy to the drive shaft of the picking mechanism via the double arm lever. The picking mechanism thus uses only little energy.

  • Patent number: 4922967
Abstract: The torsion bar firing device is provided with a striking lever having an end piece at the distal end which acts directly on the abutment face of a projectile on firing. The striking face of the end piece of the striking lever and/or the abutment face of a projectile may be formed as inclined planes or as convex, concave, or concave-convex surfaces. The direct drive of the projectile by the striking lever reduces the masses to be accelerated and braked. This advantageously influences the energy consumption and the weaving efficiency of the projectile weaving loom. The end piece may be integral with the distal end of the striking lever or may be in the form of a rotatably mounted roller of a trapezium shaped element.
