  • Patent number: 4973099
Abstract: A bridge for use for supporting overhead spotlights or for use as a sport bar for a pickup truck and located at the rear of the cab and adapted to be mounted on the side walls of the cargo box, the bridge having a pair of end caps being mirror images of each other and a center span located between the end caps, the end caps being of a generally common construction to facilitate adaptation of the bridge construction to a variety of makes and models of pickup trucks with a minimum amount of modification and including a socket connection for connecting the mating ends of the center span and end caps.

  • Patent number: 4863213
Abstract: An aerodynamic spoiler adapted to be mounted on the tailgate of a pickup truck to enhance stability under certain driving conditions and to reduce turbulence in the cargo box and further an aerodynamic spoiler having a generally hollow structure and having an open configuration facilitating securing to a mounting surface of a vehicle and a closed configuration after it has been secured and a structure and method of providing common components which can readily accommodate variations in vehicle width with minimal customization required.

  • Patent number: 4558898
Abstract: A light-weight aerodynamic wing device is adapted for mounting on a vehicle in a generally horizontal orientation and in a generally vertically spaced-apart relationship with the vehicle. The wing device is preferably extruded from aluminum and includes generally horizontal upper and lower peripheral walls interconnected to enclose a hollow elongated body. The body can be horizontally and/or vertically swept after extrusion into desired swept configurations for particular vehicular installations. The wall thickness of one or both of the peripheral wall portions is greatest at the compressed portion of the elongated body in order to substantially prevent buckling during horizontal sweep forming. One or more vertical reinforcing members can also be included in the hollow elongated body and extend between the upper and lower peripheral walls.
