  • Patent number: 9487247
Abstract: A cargo bed extender includes a pair of side mounting plates attached to a cargo bed sidewall, a center structure having a plurality of cross bars between a pair of end plates, and a pair of side structures with a plurality of cross bars between a front plate and a mast. Each side structure has a pivot rod engaging the side mounting plate, and a pair of spring biased feet, one of the feet extending from each end of the mast. Locking pins may be inserted through the front plate to engage the side mounting plate and hold the spring biased feet in a position where they exert forces against the tailgate or cargo bed floor.

  • Patent number: 8376250
Abstract: A control mechanism for a lawn spreader controls output flow of granular material out of the spreader hopper by adjusting the position of a control cable anchor point. The control mechanism includes a clamping portion for clamping to a tubular handle of the spreader. A top surface of the clamp portion, adjacent to the handle, provides a slide for a slideable cable anchor shuttle, which internally provides the anchor point for a control cable. The shuttle may be made from a plastic material. A dial housed within a dial housing, adjacent to the slide portion of the clamp, may be rotated to various indicated positions which in turn controls the position of the shuttle on the metal slide portion of the clamp, thereby adjusting the position of the control cable anchor point. The control cable extends from the end of the shuttle anchor mechanism to a hopper spring-loaded aperture cover.

  • Publication number: 20080271281
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a device for collecting and transporting loose material, and in particular, to a device pulled by a vehicle equipped with a turbine, a conduit, an enclosure, and a foldable accordion-type top. This device is equipped with a top made of a plurality of foldable rectangular ribs over which a flexible sheet and air opaque or mesh-line panels are used to regulate the flow of air through the enclosure. At one end the sheet is secured to the loose material conduit where loose material enters the enclosure and at an opposite end the sheet is secured to the tailgate or to the back section of the enclosure. To open the enclosure with a tailgate equipped with this disclosure, a user unlocks the tailgate of the enclosure, flips the back section of the accordion-type roof up toward the front section, and secures the tailgate to the folded accordion-type roof.
