  • Patent number: 9134094
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to the field of firearms, and, more specifically, to laser sights for firearms, particularly laser sights having multiple laser diodes. Various embodiments of the disclosed systems may include two or more lasers in a single unit, and may not only be relatively less expensive relative to units with two separate lasers and housings, but they may also be easier to calibrate and use. For example, in various embodiments, the system may include two or more lasers that may be adjusted for windage and elevation (e.g., calibrated) simultaneously. Thus, in various embodiments, one or more infrared diodes may be calibrated automatically when a corresponding visible light diode is calibrated, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 8915009
Abstract: Embodiments provide modular illumination systems that may be used with any handgun platform, and are not specific to any make or model. Some embodiments may provide lighting, for instance visible light and/or infrared light for use in low light or dark environments. Also provided in various embodiments are aiming and/or sighting systems that may be equipped with an IR sight or a laser sight, such as a red or green laser. In various embodiments, the illumination modules may couple to the handgun via a mounting member that is integral to the handgun body, and the mounting member may be recessed or otherwise concealed and/or protected by the handgun body. Thus, in various embodiments, no portion of the mounting member (or the corresponding mounting element on the illumination module) is exposed or visible when the illumination module is coupled to the mounting member, and a conventional holster may be used.

  • Patent number: 8739594
Abstract: A plier tool for crimping electrical connectors to wires includes two plier handles that are pivotally connected together by a pivotal coupling that allows for rotation of the handles, towards and away from one another. The two plier handles each have gripping portions that are graspable by a user to rotate the plier handles about the axis of rotation. A crimping die is located on each plier handle, at an end opposite of the gripping portion thereof, and rotation of the plier handles causes the crimping dies to be moved towards and away from one another between engaging and non-engaging positions. The crimping die, together, define an opening that is configured to receive an electrical connector in a manner that positions the electrical connector in an endwise direction that is generally perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20070232705
Abstract: Zirconia particles, methods of making zirconia particles, composite materials that contain the zirconia particles, methods of making the composite materials, and zirconia sols that contain the zirconia particles are described. The zirconia particles are substantially non-associated and have an average size no greater than 50 nanometers and may contain yttrium. The zirconia particles are prepared by a method that includes two separate hydrothermal treatments.
