  • Publication number: 20240125668
Abstract: A method and device for leak testing of blow molded plastic containers uses high voltage in order to check at least one container wall which separates an outside of the container from an inside of the container for micro cracks or pinholes by placing a first electrode on the outside of the container wall and a second electrode on the inside of the container wall. High voltage is then applied between the first and the second electrode, and a current between the first and the second electrode is detected and compared to a predetermined threshold. A container is disposed if the detected current is above a pre-determined threshold. The first electrode is the anode and the second electrode is the cathode.

  • Publication number: 20240110855
Abstract: A method and device for determining the compliance of blow molded containers with respect to a requested top load performance is disclosed. The height of a blow molded containers is determined, and a measuring head is connected to apply an increasing force onto the top of the blow molded container. The compression of the blow molded container is continuously measured along with the force applied. The application of the force is terminated before a non-linear correlation between force and compression is recorded and an accept or non-accept signal is generated by comparison with stored data.

  • Patent number: 11543323
Abstract: A method for in-line leak testing of blow moulded containers wherein a conveyor line is fed with a continuous stream of blow moulded containers from a blow moulding machine, at least one measuring head is temporarily connected to a first blow moulded container. The measuring head is moved in order to follow the movement of said first blow moulded container which is pressurized by a source of pressurized gas, the source of pressurized gas is disconnected, said at least one measuring head is used to measure the pressure decay therein. The pressure decay is compared with stored data for the pressure decay of acceptable containers and an accept or non-accept signal is generated which implies proceeding or disposal of said first blow moulded container. The measuring head is moved against the moving direction of the conveyor line to a subsequent blow moulded container, and the process is repeated.

  • Publication number: 20100307954
Abstract: A basic container comprising a top, a substantially flat bottom and at least three substantially flat sides at an angle of substantially 90° with respect to the bottom, the basic container being leak-free except for a container head in the top with a filling/emptying opening and a means for providing a leak-free closure with a closure means, wherein the axis of the container head is at an acute angle with respect to the bottom; a process for the manufacturing thereof; a top cup adapted to be attachable to the top of the above-described basic container without obstructing the filling/emptying opening of the container head of the basic container; and a plastic container comprising the above-described basic container and the above-described top cup attached with attachable means to the basic container, wherein the top cup does not obstruct the opening of the container head.

  • Publication number: 20060012085
Abstract: A method for blowing objects, in which the following steps are successively followed: providing a synthetic sleeve (14) in a mould (1); inflating this sleeve (14) by means of compressed air up to a maximum pressure; and scavenging the obtained object (4) by means of a compressed air flow, whereby the air in the object (4) is continuously refreshed, wherein the pressure of the compressed air varies from a start pressure to the atmospheric pressure according to an adjustable course which varies as a function of time.
